WTH is with parenting in 4.21

Parenting use to be straight forward, now every time I use parenting the part flies off into space, rotates, and changes shape. Please explain.

Is Parent In Place on or off?
I am having the same trouble intermittently and have written a ticket. They can't repro & now I'm having to mess around in DAZ Studio to try & reproduce the problem It only happens sometimes. I think it's related to applying hierarchical material presets and then poses.
Yes, parent in place is checked. I've used DS for nearly two decades and never had this problem. It's not like parenting is new feature so I don't understand this doesn’t make any scene. Is there any way getting DAZ Studio 4.10?
It's a bug. I've been running into it too. The left side parents fine but when I try to do the same thing on the right, it flies out away from the figure. I haven't had time to report it yet. I fixed it by installing an earlier version of Studio and it worked there. It's been happening to me when I try to parent and do a hand pose at the same time. I haven't tried it any other way yet.
