Victoria 9 Seems To Lack JCMs?
in The Commons
I bought her yesterday (after an internal 'should I/shouldn't I' war). Seems she is without JCMs as her hip has some weird bend issues (top of bend distorted like a pinch, bulging at the side) that I would get if I made my own model. This seems quite rude since she costs more than most figures. What's the deal? Are we waiting for a Vendor to fix this? Am a little annoyed.
I used some of the basic body morphs from the standard Daz Originals pack for Genesis 9.

Sounds like the base joint correctives were turned off, easy to happen if you use zero figure instead of restore figure. I made some presets to quickly turn them back on again.

butt bends dont look right at all. i can confirm that is with base joint correctives on. of course this would be a good opportunity for PAs to "fix" the problem.
Its a Daz Original so not up to PAs - but yea it needs a fix if that's with the BJC turned on.
This, this is why KHImage studio's Ultimate bend morphs can't come soon enough!
I'm not sure what you're doing - what you have turned on or what you don't, but I just cannot get my V9's butt to look like that. I've tried turning both V9 AND feminine on, turning V9 AND masculine on, turning base joint correctives off....I just can't duplicate that.
They probably zeroed the figure which zeroes the JCMs
I think the initial "dislike", if that's what it is, for V9 and Genesis 9 is that people don't know how to use her yet because she's a little different than previous generations. Maybe once that's cleared up and people get used to how it works, it'll be different. I, for one, really like the new figure. It has a few little niggly things about it, but I'm sure in time everything that might be a problem will get fixed.
If someone can show us how to bend G9F/V9 without "kinking" major joints like the elbows, thighs, and knees (WITHOUT RESORTING TO AN ADD-ON PRODUCT), that would be greatly appreciated. I have encountered the same problems that are mentioned in this thread. "Base Joint Correctives" does not solve the bending problems adequately. Please show us what we need to do.
I want G9F/V9 to work properly, but until fundamental problems such as bending are solved, I will stick with G8.1F. DAZ should have created G8.2 - G8.1F with G9F/V9's face expressions.
Do you have some (untextured) examples?
Thanks for you reply, Richard. Sorry for my delayed response - My internet connection was down for the past 2 days. Here are my examples, G8.1F is on the left, G9F is on the right:
Shin90 - G8.1F's shin looks good. G9F's looks slightly "kinked".
Shin90Thigh-75 - Both firgures thighs are beginning to "table top", G9F's more so. G8.1F's shin is OK, G9F's shin looks terribly "kinked".
ForeArm90 - This is subjective, I prefer G8.1F.
ForeArm90Thin50 - This is subjective, G9F's ForeArm bend looks worse if I set Thin to 50%.
Hopefully, these problems will be addressed and solved.
Please report the issues to Daz https://www.daz3d.com/help
Ticket submitted. Ref # is 425246. I hope they fix this.
Hello, thanks for all the replies. Am a shift worker so haven't had a chance to respond until now.
I checked the figure and the base correctives were all on.
It certainly felt that way, though the onus is not upon our vendors to fix it.
I agree that it is a Daz Original problem to solve and hope it's sooner rather than later.
I see a little of the distortion in your examples. I don't know what else is different. Perhaps it's because I used other morphs from the Daz Originals body morphs? It's the only thing I can come up with to explain it.
Thank you for submitting a ticket. I hope they do too. And thanks for the extra examples.
Take Away: G9 feels a little unpolished at this time. I'm hoping th@y'll be polished up shortly. I can imagine it may be difficult given the variety of the base figure's potential shape.
