    Raw ... how would I use Strygia's tongue on a G8M character? Would I have to parent it like clothing or hair for a figure other than it was created for?

    geografts are tough, they really only work well on the figure they are made for.

    You could try parenting and hiding the parts of the original tongue...but there will be edges to deal with I am sure

    Do you have any G8M figures with crazy-long tongue that can also fork and give a lot of pose options that I can grab?

    Does this one fork?

    demon krampus has a long tongue  https://www.daz3d.com/demon-krampus-for-genesis-8-male

    parasite does as well https://www.daz3d.com/parasite-for-genesis-8-males

    but none of them are forked and each newer version improved over the previous

    My main problem is the rest of my figure has to remain G8M.

    I'm already mixing skin and fur from two separate figures ( Rakshasa for the skin & hiding the force fur, then dialed into gorilla for G8M using the LAMH fur). All I need is a forked tongue with control and length like Strygia's.

    I'm kinda known for wanting to do what stuff don't wanna do, lol.

    Try loading it alone, or cancel the AutoFit, then go to Edit>Figure>Scene Identification, click the ... button next to preferred base, and select Genesis 8 Male and fit it. Hierarchical psoes or materials would fail without having the tongue parented to an 8.1 male or applying them to 8.1 + tongue and saving them out as regular presets.

    Thanks, Richard Haseltine. I'll try that. Any tips on how to get it to fork?

     

    update: I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but trying to reassign the preferred base didn't work.

    I found Krampus in my content, so loaded his tongue, but am still gonna need it to fork. Ideas?
