You are my hero. On top of making awesome vehicles, now you've created the exact product I've wanted for years:

I don't know if I've ever wanted a product so badly. :) Thank you so much for this!

Well thanks, that's cool and I can't wait to see how they are used. Just a hint, vol. two is wrapping up.

Just so you know, my poor debit card is soon going to be taking a beating thanks to you. Never will it or I enjoy it more. :D

Yes, those things are very cool, and handy. I get the idea that each one actually IS something specific, but then I look at 'em like "hey, a compressor, firehose nozzle, and a capacitor...lets build a gun!"
I made ears. Yep. That set had just the parts I needed.

Silly question, but are there templates for these?

No, but UV Mapper can do it for free.

    Good old uv mapper!
I was just wondering what a good map size would be to start making textures for these.

Depends on what size you make them in relation to the other parts.

Have to agree, these really are incredibly useful. Would especially find useful additional wing types, gun turrets, cockpit glass shapes, conning towers, missiles, sensor pods and such... I have much need to be able to create my own military aircraft/spaceships/submarines.

Assorted different 'hull shapes' we can rescale and parent together would be very desirable, too.

Hey Chris, any hints as to what is in the second set? I still have the first wishlisted.

A lot more weapon parts (around 100), panels, triangular pieces, and tech.

Oh cool, that'll join the other set on the wishlist then. :D

Yes, the Greebles set is almost stupidly useful. I think it's going to feature in pretty much every sci-fi render I make from now on.

Here's a WIP, just playing around with it.

  • Dear DzFire,

Can we use the product to make model for sale?
    (Is the product resource?)

I've had this product for quite a while now. I find it indispensible for everything from minor additions to full models. Can't wait for Package 2!

I'll have to go back to punishing Corinthianscori's car again.

Almost everything (for the helidrone) is from the package

    Nice work, Etrigan.

When Package 2 comes out it's going to go into my shopping cart so fast it will probably punch a hole and keep right on going.

Thanks, Bytescapes. I was admiring yours as well. It's funny how two minds work. I hadn't thought of industrial uses yet. I like the way you've distressed the intakes.

It doesn't say it's a Merchant Resource so presumably not, though you could arrange items to make a model and sae them as a scene file in DS or in Poser (assuming all were parented to a single item) save the parent item as a prop file, opting to include the parented props. That would allow you to distribute the set-up without distributing the geometry. You'd also need textures or procedural materials of course.

Speaking of DZFire's useful package, here's an image I made recently. The basic 'spacecraft' was generated by Shapewright, and I then improved its appearance by covering it with greebles.

INice, and I don;t even have volume 1 yet. maybe I'll just wait for volume 2 and get them both at the same time. With both of them plus a part set I got from renderosity I should be able to kit bash together some pretty nice shadowrun style drones.

Just pick up the greebles set and I'm not disapointed. I've already started wrok on my first drone using parts for this set plus a sci-fi vehicle Construction Kit I found on renderosity.  it's still a work in progress but if it wasn;t for DzFire I don;t think I would be making it at all.

Please let me jump in to thank DzFire for Real Paint and Real Metal shaders for Daz. They are simply

amazing and now my go to shaders for cars or any other vehicle. Great job!

And again, another thank you to DzFire!  Greebles set #2 has dropped today, and I've been getting tremendous use out of your Real Metals for DAZ - it's one of my must-have shader sets. :D I can't wait to get home and start using the new greebles!

  • FabeFabe Posts: 229

Thanks as well DzFire. I'll be getting set #2 ASAP. If there is a set #3 in the works may I sugest tank treads amd maybe wings as well.

  • XenomorphineXenomorphine Posts: 2,421

And it has the missing piece from the first set!

DZ, you know the sts are "must haves" for me. Serously, I'd have to spend so mych time on doing stuff like you sell, I'd likely be dead before I manage to get a single issue done.

As it is, my wife may kill me when she sees the bill.

Well, I'll have to buy them all now that you've given me an excuse to play with LEGOs again.

At least I won't be stepping barefoot on stray Greebles...

Another "thank you": Your Real Lights for DAZ Studio Iray and Macclean's primitives are the two items that are in almost every render that I do: http://cat-man-dancing.deviantart.com/art/Cheap-and-easy-iray-DAZ-lighting-tutorial-589098114
