What does "All Artists in Our Store" mean?

I got an email saying "all artists in our store" are on sale 40% for one item, 50% for two.

I went and put an item from Firstbastion in my cart, and no discount was reflected.

Is it a glitch, or false advertising?

Or am I reading the word "store" wrong?

"All artists catalogs in the entire store!" it says.

I think it is working, you have to put the items into the cart for the discount to show up. :)

    "Discounts apply to the following:

    ALL artists catalogs"

and it also says "ALL MARCH MADNESS ARTIST STORES BACK ON SALE"

FirstBastion WAS a March Madness artist.

If they meant this to be a catch-up sale for this week, that's one thing, but that's not what the ads say.

I did, that's how I found out it wasn't working.

Does not apply to new releases or PC+ items, it says in small print.
I added an older item from FirstBastion and it seemed to work.

Here's a screen grab from the cart showing that the advertised discount was not applied:

    You're right! :)
    I tried that one too.
The discount did not apply to:

Hopefully one of the powers will take notice this thread.
Keep the screenshot for customer support as well. :)

Hrm... I didn't think this was a new release? Maybe that's the answer... I wish they'd indicate if something was a new release or not on the item page so one could tell!

    Thanks for that ippotamus.

Do you have a March Madness item in your cart?

OK... weird... if you add a second item, then the discount applies.

I guess the 40% for one item is the glitch.

No big, was planning on getting two anyways.

I did not, nor did the ad say I needed to. In fact, it says "All Artists Catalogs" are on sale.

The ad clearly states the artists themselves are on sale.
I'd buy as many as possible... 40-50% off artists is a great buy.
They don't eat much, they are used to being neglected and most are already housebroken... And they'll make you all the content you want.
Now that's a great March Madness sale!

This stupid comment/joke does not reflect the sales tactics or opinions of DAZ3D, their staff, or their pets. It was meant as a misguided attempt at humor and making light of what is hopefully a misprint or personal misinterpretation of a sales statement.
Nor is this meant to make fun of Artist Trafficking, which is probably a serious problem somewhere.
The author of this post would like to make it clear that real artists are human beings and should not be treated like property or put up for sale at a hefty discount.
Even those elephants that paint stuff and those sea otters that made that cool article in that 3D magazine last month, should all be treated with respect and love.
Never hug a sea otter too tightly or they will bite you.
The author would also like to point out that since I was including sea otters in the above statement, the use of the word "housebroken" was only meant as an umbrella term. When speaking of human only artists, the proper term is "potty-trained", and since statistically 89.4% of 3D artists have completed the potty training segment of their studies it should be assumed that majority of them as so trained.

Artists are people too... Hug an artist today... Or something like that.

I tried with a couple of DO and they don't seem to be discounting either, the Repitlian 6 HD for example.

Another funny - I was hoping Randall Lloyd's Supersuit add-ons would come up in MM - three were released on 11/Jan (Supersuit Heavy Hitters / Color Corps / Precious Metals) but only one is in the sale?

OOPS! Just answered my own question: the Color Corps is in the "Related Madness" section - so presumably this was intentional?

But in that case I think the wording "2 DAYS ONLY! ALL ARTISTS ON SALE! For a very limited time, ALL artists in our store are on sale!" on the MM page is misleading, as not all artists seem to be included, only the ones in the http://www.daz3d.com/sat-mm-201503072015-mad-pas link.

Yes, I agree, it's very misleading text. It says "All artists catalogs" are on sale, not all March Madness artists catalogs.

It says "all artists" many times throughout the advertisement.

Same problem/misunderstanding here. "Save on All Artists Stores" means ALL to me. Was hoping to clean up my wishlist a little but nothing discounts except recent Madness PA's.

    http://www.daz3d.com/march-madness-2015

    says

    "BUY ANY COMBINATION: 1 @ 40% OFF, 2+ @ 50% OFF"

    and

"Savings apply to any combination of items from the following sections: Newly Mad, Still Mad, Related Madness, Madness Stores & More Madness."

However there are several items in the "all artists" listing that don't get a discount unless another qualifying item is in cart (for example Minotaur 6 bundle, Asterion).

Stonemason's "Sci Fi interior 2015" was a March Madness item of this past week but is not at 40% or 50% off. Other March Madness items released on the same day are showing their appropriate discounts. Stonemason's wider store does appear to discount.

I suspect that if it isn't in newly Mad or Still mad it is excluded as a new release. We will ask if this and the stores are working as they should.

I thought about that, which is why I mentioned I tried the other items released the same day as Stonemason's. Those do discount 40% or 50%.

Not much of a catch up sale if the earlier items aren't included. ;-)

It's a catch-up for the store sales mainly - and in fact should include all sales. If the Stonemason item has dropped out of the Still Mad category then it will be treated like any other new release, not getting the MM discounts.

You'll note it says save on "all artists stores" and doesn't have qualifiers about March Madness at all.

I stuck a bunch of Ron's brushes in my cart this morning before deciding that I couldn't really spare the cash today and that they'd work out 'cheaper' for me in other ways if I bought them when I could, even when not on sale (you can't put a price on not having to grapple with that 'where's the rent coming from this month' feeling :) ). They all showed at half price in the cart - I'm a huge 'Ron's Brushes' junkie and am pretty sure I'd have noticed if his store had been part of MM. I think the last thing we saw from him was last month's Space Brushes.

    Greetings,
I go to Ron's store, and see '10 of 86 items' when I hide items I own. :) I picked three of them up this morning, because...yeah, brush-addicted. Don't even have Photoshop, I use them in Pixelmator. Deviney hasn't been part of an MM sale yet...

There are caveats to items in the 'sale' list, the usual ones are items that are new aren't typically included. There are also some bugs, because adding 15,000 items to a sale category is GOING to have some bugs. The best thing to do is try stuff out, and if it seems like it's not working right, report it. Keep in mind that the folks getting the reports aren't typically the ones who can fix it, OR the ones whose fault it is. Worst case, there'll probably be another one at the end of the month, which DAZ'll hopefully apply the lessons learned in this one.

    I'll try this again.

    Everyday Toiletries

March Madness item released the same day (March 10th) as Stonemason's "Sci Fi Interior 2015".

No longer in the "Still Mad" category.

Discounting fine in the Madness catch-up.

    Same with:
    BWC Skies - The Bundle
InaneGlory's Photo Studio - Point and Shoot 3
    Brenhildgh for Monique 6
    Muelsfell Vile Mushrooms
Sci Fi Moves Genesis: Volume 2
    Darius 6 HD Add-On
    Monique 6 HD Add-On

All March Madness items released the same day as Stonemason's; not in "Still Mad"; discounting fine.

Perhaps Stonemason's item is the only one acting correctly and everyone should rush out and buy those others while they're too cheap. ;-)

Most, at least, of those items, but not the Stonemason set, are in Related Madness - there are a lot of items, they don't all show on the MM promo page but they do if you click the link below.
