putting daz on a ex hard drive and moving things

hi everyone

i am low on c hard drive space and can i put daz on a ex hard drive and if i add other models take up space on the main hard drive ?

at some point it did when i had my older pc and not sure if i had the models pointed at the right drive back then

sorry i have not had any 3d software on my new pc for over 2 years , just moving things to the new pc

    The software doesn't take up much space, so you can keep that on C and just move your content. All you need to do is tell DS where to find your content by going to the Content tab in Preferences and clicking the Content Directory Manager. Under Daz Studio Formats, either edit the main content directory to the new location, or add a new location.

     I moved all my content to an external drive. Just be prepared for a performance hit of some kind. Depends on the hardware and connection of course. It takes longer to load and do some things but otherwise it works great.

    There hasn't been a noticeable performance hit with USB 3.1 controllers, but I'm using W7 and at work with W10 I have noticed that USB drives are slower on it than on W7.
