I think I made a boo boo

I have the feeling that this light set doesn't work below 4.20.

There is no reason why it shouldn't; the converse isn't true... the older sets won't work with 4.2

You can check out the thread on the issue (no clue where it is) and adjust the settings (again, no clue which one, my computers are all off) but it is usable with work.

  • I have a different one of the ghost light kits that recently came out and in 4.16 I have to have the cutout opacity set to 0 for it to work and 4.20 have it set to 1, or reverse that number, I forget which. Give that a try and see if it works for you.

  • If it uses the Advanced Iray Node property Visible to Direct rays then yes, it will require 4.20.x.x+.

This is the newest set of Ghost Lights by KA, released in August 2022. It was made especially for Daz 4.20 after the initial complaints about ghost lights in that version. So even if it does work in older versions of Daz Studio, it will almost certainly look very different since it is not optimized for their ghost light behavior.

  • I don't know if my present PC has the moxie to run the newest version of 4.20. I think in the area of a graphic card. All I have is a GTX 1060 6 gig card.
Onboard ram is good cpu is good i7 six cores, etc.

I am running the most current Daz iteration (Beta Build 4.2x) with a Ryzen 9 3900 + GTX 1060 6gb + 32MB Ram, without issues*.  I usually upgrade in the week a new version drops.

*Daz is a hobby for me, my rent doesn't depend on it
