Glad I got the SY Aiko 3 and Hiro 3 Clones for Genesis 8

This post is probably only of interest to very long-time users of content from Daz3D.

There was a really steep discount on the clothing conversion scripts for Aiko3 and Hiro3 clothing for Genesis 8 figures. Since I've got the A3 and H3 assets from almost 2 decades ago, I figured - why not.

Here is a Genesis 8 Male character wearing converted Hiro 3 clothing. I used modern iRay compatible shaders. (Magical prop modelled by me using Blender3D; boots are a G8M item).

Note: Back in the day, most content was created for use with Poser software, so make sure that Daz Studio Pro content libraries for Poser content are include in Preferences. Load the content from the Poser runtime structure.

    I also dug out some really old Aiko3 content for Genesis 8 Female.

    I used the A3 Gothic Lolita clothing.  The skirt was really giving problems and I decided to jsut parent it to the hips.  I used modern iRay shaders.

    Wow, that came out really well. I have that outfit and was considering converting it but ended up getting the same outfitt updated to G8 when it was on sale https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-gothic-doll-outfit-and-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81-female I still have a bunch of other A3 tighter outfits that I will try some day. I now have tons of cute Asian girls that those old outfits would look good on. I hated the way A3 bended and posed. I never even tried those outfits on G1 which I should for stylized characters. I have way too much content lol.

  • Glad you're having fun with it. :)

    Hey, SickleYield, how are you doing? I saw that you and your family had been ill. Is everyone better now (I hope!)?

    Yes, this product is a great cause of joy for me too! SickleYield has solved so many problems for me. She's Daz's Swiss army knife.

    Nice work! Did you add a smoothing modifier?

    Waves at Sickle!*

    Thanks IBRremote I will have to check this out. I haven't used Genesis 8 much.

    @pendraia - I didn't use a smoothing modifier.

    So many A3 and H3 outfits to try on the G8 male and female !

    @ibr_remote you should add another aka to your name...lol. Yes there are a few of them. I've found when converting the older files to the new format that adding a level of sub d helps and also adding a smoothing modifier. They don't all react well to smoothing though as some literally come apart at the seams.

    A couple of renders...Dawn in A3 everafter dress and Dawn and Dusk in edwardian clothing from David iirc.

    Thanks I do mine manually as I find it creates less distortion but the converter you bought seems to do a good job.
