Laguna Mermaid on G8 ?

All the assets I own are for G8 figures, but the Laguna Mermaid Set is for G3.

I prefer this mermaid to the newer G8 Mermaid products, but is there any way to get it to work on a G8 Female?

The geograft is the issue I think. (see attached - tail on G8 looks messed up)

But I was just wondering if anyone can suggest a workaround to get it to work on G8.
