Posing issues in newest version

So I had to upgrade my computer after the last one starting smoking. I now have DAZ 4.7 and I can't figure out the new posing. Every time I try to select a limb to pose, I end up selecting skin instead. I tried using the scene tab and selecting individual limbs, but I can't add more things to select. Only the hips and thighs are showing. My use of the program is severely limited now. Can someone help? Why can't I select anything I used to be able to select in the older version?

I've attached a screen grab for reference. I am trying to select the lower leg and keep selecting his skin instead.

    You have the Surface Selection tool active. Top menu bar, yellow icon in the screenshot. Change to one of the other selection/posing tools.

    Now the toolbar at the top is gone. How do I get it back?

    Either reload the layout (Window>Workspace>Select Layout) or if you don't want to lose other changes you have made go to Window>Workspace>Customise and in the Activities tab expand the current (sole) activity, then the Toolbars list, right-click on the toolbar you want back and select Enable Toolbar.
