I am finally back on Daz forums.  I think tomorrow is August 11, 2022.  Maybe I should go to bed soon.  It is close to ten pm.

edit I was about an hour off as it is a little bit after 9 pm.

Forum was unavailable for a half hour.  I don't keep trying.  I just go do other things and check back in a while.  It is really tiring, now.  Alleged fixes with new software.  They must be going to the same salesman.  They keep getting junk.  And probably paying a lot of money for it, too.

Yeah, I had a bunch here too.  I gave up and got on with life for a while.

Non-complaint:  I've finished vacuuming and straightening my bedroom, the kitchen is all organized and clean, my displayed baubles have all been individually cleaned and their shelves dusted, and all has been put back in an even better display organization.  However, in the process I managed to wrench my back again.  And I was doing so well too.    But on the bright side I'm well along in the recovery  from the infection and having just this morning finally weighed-in at under 185, so now I can say I've lost 65 pounds within the last year.  Wheee.    I'm 1/4 less of a man than I used to be.smiley

Complaint:  My doctor wants to do CAT scans, and videos of my insides via some narrow channels not designed to pass cameras the wrong wayfrown, to try to determine a cause for my episodes.  Insurance willingness is being queried.indecision

'Ongoing complaint: Yep, just had another “404”. Apparently there's plenty of royal swamp water left.angry

Ah.. The Dread Housework!  Here its a weekly afair (or more often as needed). My wife and I split the load.I do the vacuuming and shaking out of place mats, followed by the dry dusting of all the furniture (via Swiffers) and then the damp dusting (with a very soft cotton cloth, which is actually a cloth diaper.) . Then the computer case external filters get vacuumed. The Dear Lady Wife does the bathrooms,  save for the tub, which is my final duty. The whole shebang is followed by tea and a biscuit! (I am the tea-wallah) Our place is 1076 sq.ft, so its not too bad, just under an hour gets 'er done!

and LeatherGryhon.. good to see that your Dr. is looking at diagnostics, too bad it has to be wrangled with insurance companies.. Up here, last year when I had an internal GI bleed that kicked me into fullblown diabetic ketoacidosis, never saw the bill for an ambulance, a week in hospital and CT scans.. (or for the follow up services from the Diabetic Educatoin Centre who check in with me ever 3 months and are only a phone call away if needed.. Its more a support than education center, good folks to have on your side (I'm a long tme Type 1 on intensive insulin therapy - last week had my annual diabetoc eye exam with my opthamologist - again no bill)

Complaint: After over a week I still have not gotten the 15% discount tor spending over $50 on 31 July and there has been no response to my ticket that I filed on 3 August. I guess I may soon be leaving DAZ as I do not wish to deal with a company with business practices like that. Oh well, think of all the money I will save.

Wait, There are other companies like Rendo and CGTrader; so maybe my money will go there instead and I won't be saving afterall.

Non-complaint:  Cookies!   Aye Admiral, thar be cookies here.  Wheee...yes  For this weekend's family reunion I've made a batch of my mother's chocolate chip oatmeal cookies from scratch. Crisco, flour, eggs, vanilla, salt, baking soda, sugar, brown sugar, walnuts, chocolate chips, non-instant oatmeal flake, and lots and lots of elbow grease.  Oh, my aching arm.  But oh, they are so good.heart

Complaint:  Now to turn off the oven and cool the house down again.frown

I hope enough last until the weekend.devil

I can't wait to get out of here!

my apartment mate is slamming doors!  The one who runs this place was mad I had some empty boxes sent to my place.  She wants me out of here anyway.

my friend might have brought a tad too many boxes but I didn't make my friend come over.

...better to have more than less as I've found out when moving.

Yeah, you definitely need a place of your own as it seems they keep setting you up with very negative people.

I feel that way with the Bridges  xD

Last time I asked support about them I did get a ticket back but it was to tell me they aren't actually supported by DAZ so no support will be given (Then, why advertise them on your site?)  and it feels like the few times a team comes along to work on them they vanish not long later.  Or at least with the C4D Bridge.  I don't recall Morph Export ever really working.  The last team to come in updated it and it became a 30/70 sort of deal where sometimes they'd export *to an extent*  but most of the time they didn't.  It's back to about 10/90 now  - I've exported dozens of figures and exactly two exported with morphs, the rest throw an IMPORT FAILED at me instead.

Sometimes joints are oriented properly, most of the time they're not. Weighting issues exist in every figure that certainly aren't present in D|S or Poser,  etc.  Now a new problem has been introduced where the models import with the joints in one pose but the mesh zaps into a default pose that's different and the joints don't follow,  resulting in a lot of fussing around to fix it (Or just using a Collada export...)

Regardless,  I hope the current team can make some progress - even if it has been a while since their last message :<

Good, good.  Also a good idea to practice calming down when you ARE calm - makes it easier when things happen !

Something I have learned during the last 30 years... As long as one gets to keep ones underwear, everything is not lost - If not, one gets a free ride to all expences paid retreat for 'exposure'.

So far, they have left the underwear...

Ah, discussions of underwear.  One summer, on a long ride from Buffalo, NY to Washington, DC on my motorcycle I was reminded again that when rain hits you on the motorcycle while you are wearing a good complete set of leathers, you have a few minutes to get to a place to either avoid the rain under shelter, or stop and don your rain gear(if you have any).  Rain gear sucks royal swamp water when you're wearing leather.  You look and feel like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloon, so any self-respecting gay leatherman avoids that at all costs.  However, if the rain turns to a downpour before you can get to shelter or if only a drizzle for hours on end, occuring 100 miles from nowhere, in the Canadian mountains between Vancouver and Prince George, you're pretty much stuck getting wet.frown  And once your underwear is wet, there's no reason to stop.indecision  (But it does take two days for your leathers to dry out when you reach civilization.)

Once back in the 60's got caught in a rain squail between Montreal and  Morrisburg, discovered that the old nozzle style hadn dryers ion the service stop restroom dry socks really well.. (the bike at the tme was a BSA Thudnderbolt 650).. No rain gear in accompaniment.

Yep, I will go through the clothing... Have already converted the best ones I had to G8. At first glance I just concentrated on architecture, which had been updated through the years and even had the Blender, Unreal, etc. stuff now.

The major DL session just have to wait until I get back to work next week as I get 10 times better speed there.

Wait? What? Who is the Patriot's QB?  That must be fake news?  Or is it really true?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,847

.....yep it's true. Tom "Terrific" (Brady) has been laying for Tampa Bay for a couple seasons now. Retired after last season, then "un-retired" but is still with the Bucs.

Might only help if the underware is wet by rain?  Might be dirtied by mud?  Yes, mud!  Like going out on a motorcycle and a sudden rainstorm came up.  And you ended up in a big mud puddle that got your pants so muddy?
