ways to minimize G8 characters being so taxing in Iray scenes?

As much as I love the G8 characters for their details and quality of course they can be real problematic as I would say is commonly known around here as to how taxing they are in Iray render scenes, before I know it after adding 3 or 4 clothed Iray characters to a scene I'm looking at harsh render times or just my system will give up and freeze outright.
Are there any methods to perhaps tone down the detail of Iray G8 characters as well as G8 Iray clothing so I can at least load more characters in and so the render times aren't quite as agonizingly long? of course at the loss of some detail and quality of textures or whatnot is to be expected. What is the closest options to making a G8 character as lo-res as possible? Thx.

Reducing mesh resolution, removing bump and normal maps, downrezing the diffuse maps, etc. You could look at things like Resource Saver Shaders to replace maps on things that don't need them, and Scene Optimizer to automate some of the solutions above.
A fully clothed G8 with hair can be taken down to 12MB's of VRAM quite easy without any additional software

Ahhh useful thx. I don't really know how to do this though: What I did was, took the normal Basic Genesis 8 Female, removed the lashes, all the other texture maps, but the diffuse one (used Shinteo's) can anyone tell me how to delete these please as I don't know where to find them thx.
