... to kick DS in the butt to realize it has a new product?
Case in point, I acquired a new figure and installed via DM. No problem. He shows up it All Products just fine.
Now I go to Figures, Male, Real World, and where's Habban?
Even AFTER a system restart he's a no show in his catagory.
So what gives?

Did you check the female catagory? Sometimes figures can be misfiled.
Or check the actual location under DAZ Studio Formats.

He is simply under /Default/Figures/People.

That's what I'm saying. He is in his category, as determined by the metadata. Metadata says "<Category VALUE="/Default/Figures/People"/>". Metadata sets the category, it is not provided or determined by any other PA supplied info. Yes, he is a male figure based on G8M, but metadata does not care. Metadata is added by DAZ after the fact. If they get it wrong, we all suffer for it.
Wonderful. I have have noticed recent (early 2022) occurrences where someone has added an "s" onto the end of a label for something (eg. some product name, to make it "plural") and presto, new upper level category! Devoted to just that one product or just that PA.
Sussed it. ALL of his categoies were unchecked.
Simple. But niggly. I don't care much for niggly.
