GIS Series

I'm very curious to see any artwork using the GIS series (Orion, Skyway, etc.). Aside from the promo renders here on DAZ, I haven't seen it actually used anywhere and would love to browse through some external artwork that is set in one of those beautiful environments. Any suggestions?

    Greetings,
I'm not a great example, but I've used it in Mirror Mechwarrior, a quick M6 render when M6 came out, and a vulpine goddess outside the window. For some reason I've really only used GIS Orion in anything I've shared, although I own the whole set...and most of the textures. :)

It's a seriously good collection of sets! I haven't really used it much, but that's more to do with me trying to think up a creative spin for a scene it can be used for. I'm aiming to use the bridge for a 'Tron'-like composition, but because you have to manually place each section if you want it stretching into the distance, it's going to need a day I can set aside doing that.

But, yes, from my test renders, I have no regrets getting them and the expansions. They basically look just as good as the promotional images make them seem.

The GIS is one of my favorite series. I wish there was more of these sets done. If you look at my product Dynamic Supersuit Set 2 Cosmic Gods, most of the backgrounds are GIS. http://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-supersuit-set-2-cosmic-gods

Yea, I've not really had a chance to get back into that - however, we do have something GIS-esqe in the pipeline ;)

    Another set or texture expansion?

I'll be getting it, either way!

Thanks for the suggestions! It's interesting because it's such a huge, beautiful, sprawling collection of sets and yet most people seem to use it for closeups where you can't really see that. A few of the dA images did make good use of the space though; very nice.

I like the GIS set. The challenge I have there is that there is only so much I can use corridors and such for. Would love a GIS living quarters and furniture set. I used it in this little banner a while ago.

What did you use for those flying vehicles?

It's another stand-alone, set.. not by me, either.. but like I say, would fit into the GIS-universe until I get back around to it ;)

you are not a PC+ member, if you joined you would get the GIS stuff cheap as chips and it would more than compensate for your joining fee, just saying

Thanks. That's Ruin. He's one of my favorite characters, actually. So glad you noticed.

I think those are skycars, but possibly other vehicles. used standard DAZ flying vehicles and shrunk them down really small.

One thing I'd love is some 'starship brushes.' just to fill out my skies with cool vehicles and traffic. Why use models when they are so small, and yeah, I can make my own.... But that would be awesome.

Looking forward to the GISque release and hoping you get to do some more of those sets. I love those sci-fi environments and the uniformity of style they have.
