Properly weight-balanced poses, adjusting for the heft of weapons, instruments, and other props.
That goes for me too. Particularly - and I am not sure if that is even a possibility in the context of this thread - if the poses involve 2 people. Posing one character is easy. Posing 2 characters in relation to one another quickly turns into a giant pain :D
Lifeguard, EMT poses. (Mouth to mouth, fireman's carry, CPR, etc...) even some basic checking for a pulse, flashlight looking for eye movement. Heimlich maneuver. There's a few lifeguard poses for M4/V1, but this could be expanded a lot.
Pose for reloading a gun, both handgun and for rifles
Pose for opening the fridge and staring blankly into it (great for teenaged and us blokes! ;P)
Drinking from the milk carton pose
Stooping to feed a cat/dog/pet of some kind
Walking the dog
Washing the dog
Throwing a ball, either to a dog, or throwing a baseball, football, or other ball. Even a stick!
Kicking poses, and not just martial art, but kicking a football, soccer ball or hackey sack.
Catching poses, for various sports, baseball, soccer goalie, hockey, basketball.
Swinging poses, for swinging a bat, racquet, or weapon (like a pole axe, halberd or spear, or a staff)
Jumping poses, including leaping from one point to another.
Mates poses (sporting style, companionship, friendship), hugging, arm around the shoulder, bro-hug (for Scrubs fans out there) as well as intimate mateship poses.
Tender poses, with partial or full body tenderness depending on location, camera angle etc.
More angel poses for combat. Badass Warriors of God poses for End of Days kind of renders.
Climbing poses, climbing into windows, scaling walls, clinging to rooftops, clinging to the ceiling ninja style, as well as sneaky teenagers ducking out the window, or hideous creatures sneaking in (Nosferatu, zombies)
Swimming poses, for men and women. That don't look like they are posing for a magazine cover. Far too many pose packs of late have near-identical poses, with the women especially having jutting boobs and hips, while the male equivalent seems to pose them in a feminine way, that makes them look not at all manly. I want my male characters in sci fi, or sporting gear to look like they exude charisma and masculine tendencies; not like they be afraid of breaking a nail, or being seen without product in their hair.
And I would like my women to stand like real women, not posed store mannequins.
People interacting with animals poses. Washing a horse down after a ride, brushing a pet dog, cat, horse or even petting a reptile.
Cleaning poses. Cleaning is something we all must do at some point. Be it cleaning a weapon, or vacuum the floor, wash the dishes, or sharpening a weapons' blade.
Undressing. My god there is such a lack of decent undressing poses. There are some great products with undress morphs, but not many poses to go with them. Shirt off over the head, shirt off by undoing the buttons and dropping it to the floor behind them, for both male and female.
Poses for pants remove and put on. Same for underwear, socks, hosiery, leggings, stockings, and putting on shoes, tying them up.
Laying down poses, sleeping. There are already some Relaxed and Sleep poses (great product) but it no longer works well with Genesis and Genesis 2 figures as they were for M4 and V4. Sheets to match poses, bed settings to match sleep and movement poses greatly needed.
There are likely others I'll think of, so will add them in later.
Poses for G2F and V6 wearing full-skirted historical gowns such as the new Grand Ballroom Dress.
Cheers,
Alex.
How about more friendship poses for both genders. We have several sets for women but none for men and women or men alone.
I actually really like more poses involving multiple characters interacting.
I also really like to see some rescue worker poses.
The poses I'm having the hardest to find, but I know I have some, are the just standing around chatting poses. natural non action poses. Seems like people focus on the running, jumping, fighting poses more.
A poses package I always searched but never found, is the Israeli self-defense: Krav Maga
There are many sets of poses struggles sale on the market, but other fights ... Less Krav Maga ...
The Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art of origin and is a melee method (full contact) very assertive and effective. This is a form of struggle and self-defense that aims to safeguard interests and defending the honor of all its practitioners.
It is currently the most efficient method of self-defense in the world and is aimed at all people who want to learn how to defend against individual attacks or group (with or without weapons of attack). His practice involves own fighting techniques and performing twists, kicks and spot fists in specific locations opponent's body. On the other hand, practitioners work their confidence and become more agile and flexible people.
In Krav Maga there are no regulations and that's why all the blows are allowed, in order to deal with and overcome any kind of danger.
The term Krav Maga is a word that derives from the junction of two words: "Krav" designating combat and "Maga" means that contact. Thus, the Krav Maga is a martial art contact combat and was one of the best kept secrets in the history of the Israeli state.
Simply standing poses for everyday M and F is sorely lacking.
And I love partials!
Poses for anatomical add-ons like wings and tails. Wings aren't so bad -- though more flight poses for my angels & fairies would be welcome. But tails ... :shudder: Right now I am working on a piece with the Incubus set for Sebastian and his tail is driving me nuts trying to pose it. Same with the Creature Creator tails for M4 & V4; no matter how much I try I still can't get them to go the way I want without looking like they've been horribly deformed or caught in a door. Ouch!
still waiting for the g2m version of pole exercises :)
Yes, please. ;-)
...there is one set for the YT5 characters:
http://www.daz3d.com/true-love-poses
There was also a duo pose set for K4.
Though I agree, more male - female and male - male (chest bump, high five, handshake, etc) interaction pose sets would be most welcome.
For my part,
Number ONE: MALE POSES.
Number TWO: NO sexy poses. There are already too many of them. Personally, I have problem using them in my comics because they are totally un-natural. No one in a normal life would pose like that, (if he/she is not some prostitute). So what I'm searching for is everyday poses, real-life poses, like conversations, that can be used on males and females. Interaction poses between two or three people are also interessant (please no sex poses). I'm talking about two or three people shaking hand with each other for example, or arguing or laughing with each other, eating with each other, looking at the TV with each other, sitting/walking/running with each other, sleeping with each other (without sex), standing poses (not with legs apart or behind sticking out).
I also wish that the poses are not made with "heels", or that there is an option to choose with or without heels. Because I use more male figures than female and I have to tweek almost every pose.
Don't misunderstand me. The ones who like sex poses are absolutely welcome. They have their right to like sex poses. They can do what they want, I'm not judging anyone, but for my part, for me personally, I'm beginning to be a little "allergic" to sex poses everywhere. If I want sex poses, there is internet sites for that.
Well, for those who love poses, this will be available soon.
Some more examples.
That is super exciting, Zev!
Thanks Dear:) It's a lot of fun to play with:)
Make poses is not simply, but i love to make that...I always try to make couple poses i hope the next set i'm work in progres follow your taste :)
People, were you not listening to the OP? They are going to be working with a lady to base their poses on, so requesting a male set is really rather silly.
@Ain3D The forum is a rather small sample size sadly. Your best bet is to look through the galleries here or at renderosity and see what things tend to be rendered often as this is a larger sample. Pinup styles do tend to be the most common, but as people have mentioned the market for those is rather saturated, so if you see anything else cropping up often go for it.
Beyond the genre there are also other ways to make your set stand out. as several people have mentioned sets that come with partial poses are popular and there aren't as many of them.
Since you're working with a person adding expressions might be a good way to separate yourself, they're hard without a reference and there are very few sets that come with any. Judging from the number of renders with dead-eyed stares people could use some.
In terms of taste, I definitely agree with the other posters that there's enough boobs, butt, swayback poses. But, since you are working from a reference, hopefully the poses will remain in the realm of physical possibility.
I'll also second making sure the poses don't look stiff. Once again, the references should help here.
And finally, my frivolous request: poses where the hands and arms interact with the body in a complex way, like arms wrapped around the torso. I've made one or two for myself, but they are an absolute PITA.
Zev0,
I LOVE that! Thank you so much.
Myself, I am simply looking for getting into and out of bed poses, or climbing onto the bed one knee on bed one foot on floor. can't seem to find these anywhere
Necromancy!
Has it been six years? Wow.
Krav Maga...
Guess I'm in the minority here but still wanted to share.. I never buy poses because IMO nothing beats work of your own. Of course it will be a time consuming process at first, but as you build up a small collection of poses you also build up a collection of re-usable items and/or templates which you can use as a starting point for other stuff.
I hardly use pre-made poses because I can never find what I need (most of them are silly poses anyway) and if I do find something I more than often need to make it fit into what I have setup, which will still take up time. Might as well start from scratch, also considering that DS provides awesome posing tools (universal tool, round pose tool (needs to be enabled in the viewport menu), Powerpose pane and last but not least the Parameters pane).
But then again, I enjoy modelling / posing :)
Have you seen these:
