I would like to know one other thing though, does the $800 NFP do anything that a 3D figure exported from DAZ Studio cannot, except that the one created in Studio can look exactly how we want, including being male, and cost about a tenth of that to assemble? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but you keep mentioning it can be used in Unity, Unreal Engine, and for streaming animations, all of which I believe Studio figures can also be exported to do.

Oh, I thought the thread title was refering to Daz dropping this madness completely - as in "hurry, sale ends soon - once they're gone, they're gone - last chance to...etc." cheeky

At least I can still wish on a star.

If you can invest in "Saving the planet" and make money with it, then it is being pushed by the investors.

But I think what the poster before really meant was that earlier times were less complicated than they are today, and I guess I agree with that, in a lot of matters at least. Seeing how my old parents struggle to keep up with the development of IT, I'm thinking: THEIR parents didn't have to stomach such immense changes on their last leg, did they? No wonder older people find it hard to keep up. Gee, I find it hard myself. It's like we're all driving our cars real fast, and our brains are just not made to keep up with that kind of speed. I understand the longing for some kind of breathing space, some rest, some TIME to think it all through, or maybe just lay on the grass for a little while and look up at some clouds. Can't you? Maybe some more of that could serve to prevent ideas like NFTs from spreading too widely ...

I think the biggest problem with the "modern" world, is the growing notion of making money out of nothing, instead of people working for a living = making something worth the effort, instead of playing with Monopoly money.

I can now honestly say that I truly regret every cent I've ever spent at DAZ.

Helping to pave this road, even just a little bit?

    Makes me sick.

That's why the Metaverse is coming, so all the peeps can log in there and die of hunger and thirst while their clothes are full of their own excrements because they forgot to live. I have to reevaluate my opinion about Zuckerberg; maybe his goal is, in the end, a good one, getting rid of all those peeps.

The funny thing is that humans weren't the first to do that... 250,000 years ago and 175,000 light years away a group of entrepreneurs sold the naming rights to our sun to an individual who named it Uncle Schmolrk... so technically we've been inhabitants of Uncle Schmolrkular System from before we even started naming stuff other than "Ungk" and "Grunk".

The only thing I can think of, is secondary market. You will pay that $800 now and in a few weeks or months, you can sell it to some 'investor' for millions.

so sorry for your loss heart

I unexpectedly lost my Avatar picture kitty Lynx March 8, very sudden death was fine a minute before

Lucy needed about 9 teeth extracted I don't know the exact amount, vet says she could lose the rest eventually as cats can get a disease where they rot from the inside and there is no cure, it's quite prevalent.

    Yes but think positive people.

With the collapse of NFT\Bitcoin, we can finally get GPUs.  Seriously for what I had to pay for my Asus GTX3090 TI last year they should have given me dinner and flowers first.
