March madness? Help! My credit card has yet to recover from the merciless battering it experienced during last year's PA sale.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Yup :). And if you share your email, you can get your fantasies going. DAZ can't do anything about our speculations carried out outside the forum.

i already have enough women characters and outfits to cover all my artistic needs.

It's the males I don't have enough of, unless i gender change some space pirates. there was a Lexx episode, a virus gender changed everybody.

I think, that DAZ don't need the March Madness anymore, because they sales can made one mad meanwhile every day.

Honestly I am very curious as to just what DAZ is going to do to make the March Madness sale event really stand out given all the "smaller" sales that have been going on lately. Especially since all the recent sales have been of the "stacking discount" category themed variety.

I am hoping that with whatever sale scheme is used I will be able to use the March Madness sales to clear out some of the things made by my favorite PA's that have been finding their way onto my wishlist over the past couple of months.

Well already by buying an item released in the next 3 days we can "Lock in Extra Savings" on our first MM purchase. The real question is how much extra savings? 1%, 10%, 20%? or $0.01, $1.00, $10.00, etc.?
In other words, already they are playing games with the sales and I'm not going to play.

I hope there are no stacking routines this time.
There are just NOT enough items that come out in a week that I really want to have.
How about some simple real sales... like 50% off for X today, 65% off for Y tomorrow..... simple............

one product can't recommend highly enough if it goes on sale. the aoa Advanced Distant Light!! has shadow strength control.

    goodbye built-in distant light.

yea, the AoA and the omni stuff looks really tempting, assuming I can master the included stuff first, some day, lol.

Perhaps, just hoping, a Gen6 set of skirts that are truly dynamic, possibly. Just so I don't need to walk all my figures from world-center out to there spots in a scene using that dreaded animated drape trick, with stuff that doesn't really fit to begin with. Perhaps a fix to the drape code, to stop the random poke-threw issues. Or is that dreaming to big, lol.

Tho looking for Epic new stuff doesn't mater that much, my wishlist is rather large as it is, and I need to whittle it down some.

I don't have the patience anymore for complicated pricing during sales. If it's not a straight percent-off, then I'm going to skip the whole thing. It's too complicated adding things to a shopping cart and then waiting to find out what the cost is.

I'd love to have a boyfriend to Giselle and then finally finally the Bot Armor for G2M.

And "me too" to the simple pricing. No stacking and stupid punch games, just a plain old-school sale of thrilling new things and oldies-goldies off the shelves.

Yes to everything, despite the fact I don't need a bot. But men stuff... Please. And animals that look good enough to be featured alongside Genesis and up. And resources that allow freebies... Is that too much?

I too wish there was more guy stuff. Especially a G2M version of Stonemason's Rogue SF suit.

And count me in on hoping March Madness is a simple discount sale.

Great and welcome to the forum! I think various coupons would be nice - small ones with no minimum, bigger with minimum cart totals... This way the customer may choose the best option for them.

    Lock in the saving?
    No.
Lock the DAZ marketing person in a small room with a box of saltines, an etch-a-sketch and a calculator.
Let them out on April 1.

    Let us have our sale!

Not a really a fan of the punch cards because I only buy what I think I will actually use. This means I never get the really big discounts from those and end up moderately annoyed at the end of the sale. The stacking discounts can be pretty good if there is a large enough selection with which to fill the shopping cart and this drive your overall total down. Various levels of coupons for March Madness could be a good thing but if you wanted to base such a large/important sale off of them, there would have to be a lot of them given out or either the ones given are good for many uses over a time period .

That's very good point. If DAZ would bother and make many coupons, including those with no minimum, I wouldn't shrug at punches - they don't work for me (I have many custom characters I use frequently, their shapes often cause problems with other assets like clothes, hairstyles and poses, so I MUST have the return policy, even if it means smaller discounts for me, causing me to pass on most offers and then pursue them after the sale's over and they go for sale during a flash sale or something like that - despite liking a release.

But will DAZ make such coupons...? One can hope, but I won't be surprised if they don't.

Return policies for me are less important, then whether or not I'll be willing to let myself be burnt by a 'claim' again. Like V4 clothing working fine on G2F, and how fabulous Dynamic stuff is supposed to work. My experience was less then thrilling, and that was before the flood of V4-for-G2F adapters that came out. Given all that I put Khory threw the wringer before I would even consider trying the circle skirt, it turned out to be the best experience I've ever had with a V4 item on Gen6.

So needles to say, unless there is solid third-party proof that a claim is not just a marketing lie, I tend to expect to be burnt, and never go back for a second round of torture. Anything less uncomfortable is a pleasant surprise. I do tend to respect honesty and the willingness to find solutions as well, it's not a strike out and never play again policy I have towards such things.

As for sales and coupons. I set aside a fixed amount of "Play Funds" each month for specific things, and IF there is anything left after a discount, then I'll get something else as well. I don't play the discount game, unless it is automatically in the cart for whatever I happen to have in there at the time. "oh, it's five less then I thought, what else can I get for five", lol.

Never should it be anything beyond what you planed on spending. I think Daz would appreciate repeat customers over the unfortunate "I spent to much, and now I lost my (name-it)" customers. Stick to your budget, please.

..wish I could roll back but most of my recent WIPs will not open in the earlier release, I also have a feeling the 4.7 update is part to blame for borking Reality4 as it was released only 12 days before the Reality update and there were changes made to shader and camera handling that would not have been available during the Reality4 Beta test.
