Don't know what I should think about this recent promo:
1) Collect all 6 items of the Knight Series in 6 weeks
Well the first item is an armor for G8M titled "The Knight Series 01" and a DAZ original. Will there be further armor products titled 02-06? Will all be for G8M or also G8F? Will all be DAZ originals? Will there price be always similar? Will there be other types of products?
2) Limited Freebie
In what way will the Freebie limited? Will it be limited to buyers of all 6 itmes? Will it be limited in terms of timefame of availibility? Will it be available as a purchable product for others?
3) Exclusive Add-On
Will this one be exclusive to buyers of the 6 items? Will it be available for others as a purchable product? What will it be in terms of product type and value?
At the moment there are far too many questions marks for me to really buy in. And nobody knows whether there will be a cheaper Knight series bundle one day. Reminds me on the season pass attempts a little in terms of mistery products with the exception that one does not have to pay for everything upfront. But I would prefer to know a little bit more what I might have to spend ($60+?) and what I would get in terms of extras.

I learnt not to trust mystery/surprise gifts at the expense of my money. I'm in no rush, 51% off is a poor deal for me and I rather wait few months and get them in a bundle at 72%. Even if they're not bundled, 72% each is still better than the currentt 51%.
I'm not interested in knight armour, unfortunately, but I like this 'quest' idea. It would be nice if there were sequels with more collectors' items; e.g. 'Marie Antoinette's Wardrobe', ‘Samurai Armour‘, 'The Spanish Armada', 'Renaissance Furniture' or other themes.

I like the idea too, sounds fun and interesting. But not really interested in knight stuff
The blurb does say there would be things for Genesis 8.1 Female. "This series will feature six medieval knight-shaped armor sets, including Genesis 8 Male and Genesis 8 Female, and includes a full set of armor with sword included."
I did get the armor not having anything better to buy along with a gift card, but I have no intention of commiting to 5 more without knowing anything about them, to get something I know nothing about.
I like the concept, especially since it doesn't require buying everything at once unseen.
I was actually coming up with a story that needed armor, so this came at the right time :).
Not sure if I'm in for all 6, if they're like 01 and a similar price, it is likely, but I will wait and see.
With the online stories that I publish, I see no need for this product at the present time and in the foreseeable future. If I did, I'd go for it.

I really want more knight content, but the textures of the knight outfit look like stone and it is distorting in some places. This is an outfit that might have been better as a character in itself rather than something that conformed to the figure. I may still get it to see if it can be retexturing.
I doubt very much I will buy much in the series because it likely will be all female, but we will see.
If this was 6 items for G8M I might be interested, but if the assumption is I will buy G8F items to complete the set - I'll not be getting any freebie or exclusive add-ons. Not going to buy something I wont used (for G8F) just to get a set and a mystery-meat freebie and add-ons. If the other G8M items are quality I'll look at them. Money is tight and getting tighter and I don't *need* these to live.
I don't like that texture one bit. I'm wondering if it can be retextured too, but then I'm probably not clever enough.

I like the armor, but if the armor model is more on the realistic side then I'd like it having both male and female equivalent.
And I mean equivalent like "same armor but rigged for G8F/G8.1F.
The Western Knight 02 for Genesis 8 Females was ok, but I never used the torso part because it's built with those vacuformed breasts clashing with the rest of the set.
Same thing with skipping over the Zodiac armors, different undersuits and chest plates for M/F.
If it's big bulky armor covering someone head to toe it does not need gender signifiers.
If I buy all 6 unknown items.. I'll get something of unknown and undiscernable value at the end with unknown exclusivity. It could even be an ATVE Medieval Cart! Omagosh!
Or I could just buy a lottery ticket...
(For the record I bought Daz's other sets in the past which came with a $xx to spend on daz originals the next week. In general I was always able to find something to put that $xx cash to.)

Easy to improve with Photoshop overlays. But you need to have Photoshop... and know what overlays are.
The armor recolors nicely with standard metal shaders-At least the plate pieces. There is distortion for me on the neck area, which I can't tell is intentional.
Making buying stuff a Game wont encourage me (at least) to participate.
Damn, that's a codpiece.

Maybe the limited freebie will be a really cool sword or pet dragon?

I liked the looks of The Western Knight and retextured/reuved it.
That looks awesome! you should sell that.
That armour doesn't look something that I would ever need. And - attention: utterly personal taste! - none of the products of this PA tickle my fancy (for several different reasons), which makes it quite probable, that none of the further "Knight" products would be interesting for me.
Add to that, these type of sales make me go "Oh, well.. than I can live without it.." instead of making me to buy anything for a reward of chance.
Wasn't impressed with the textures either, which is a little thing for me as I'm perfectly capable of making my own ;). Still, not sure what I'd use it for currently or in the near future so I passed.
The texture looks like it's galvanized, like ROUGH GALVANIZED. It's not even close to imprssive. And the promos! Don't even get me started, if they can't bother to take the time to pose the figure properly for promos, then doubt they took the time to make it correctly.
Just look how poorly positioned the feet are. And there is a WEED sticking through one. And I'm not even sure WHAT he's suppose to be doing here? An elbow jab to nothing?
I'm not sure how many people here have actually WORE full metal armours this is suppose to represent. But you ain't doing any tiptoing around that's for sure.
This is the kind of series I should buy at release time to get the discounts & freebie but I'm always behind the times. It is a series I'll buy though, eventually. I bought old products with the hope of using them on G8 but they crumbled like aluminum foil when autofit on G8. I agree with some here the textures on this 1st in the series looks more like silver spray paint than a knight's armour forged of what? Iron? Tin alloy of some sort? I have no ideal what they were made of even though I've seen real ones from way back looking practically brand new in museums.
I do have the Western Knight that Joe Quick re-textured so nicely, but only with the original textures.
