Ever had that moment when....?

That moment where you see a clothing set, but you only want one item from it, because the rest of it is so lacking or you already own a similar product to it. And despite wanting that one item, you don't feel that the rest of the items in that clothing set is worth paying for. So despite wanting that one item from there, you end up not paying to get it.

I've been noticing that this is happening to me a lot lately. I find myself thinking: "Ohh, this clothing set has a really cute top... but wait, it has thigh-high boots that come with it. I've already got like 5 different versions of thigh-high boots that look more or less the same to each other, from different clothing sets. UGH!"

I mean. seriously... what's with all the thigh-high boots in the clothing sets I keep on getting? XD
It makes me wish there was an option to pay to get just that one item or to be able to only install one object from the clothing set instead of installing EVERYTHING.

I have... I know people are generally against subscriptions and that this is already an expensive hobby but...

This is the exact reason I picked up Marvelous Designer and just started doing it myself.  I realized that I owned so much that those unique and "finnesse" items were the only thing I was buying for anymore, and if I could just learn to do it myself, or even better to build up a whole outfit that I could customize to my liking, I'd be better off in the long run.

I'm not suggesting this route, or trying to say it's the only way to do it, but in my opinion at some point we all get to a place where we have the large 95% that makes up everything we need to do, and anything that falls into that last 5% is likely to not be a standalone product.  It's just the evolution of this kind of artistic hobby I think.

I kind of want Vinnuth Kriegor Armour just for the thong blush

Given its base price it's probably never going to be discounted enough for me to actually buy it. Oh well.

  • I have tho I hate it when some clothes don't fit and it just clips through stuff from another set. Mesh grabber helps a lot too

I've been using cutout opacity on dresses so I can pair the skirt with a different top but it doesn't work for all dresses

I don't like heels with armor but will still get a great outfit even if I won't use the boots because I'll use flatter boots. I have leather and metal shaders so I can even try making modern sneakers look medievally just to experiment

    Here's another one... https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-gothic-style-outfit-v1-for-genesis-8-females

I'll probably get it sometime in the far future when it's discounted enough, just for the top. The shoes and wrist band I can take or leave, and I'll never use the skirt.

It works with any as you can always assign the geometry you don't need to a new material zone then switch opacity to off.
