Also, thank you for listing it as a Pteranodon rather than the far smaller , crestless and long tailed Pterodactyl

I can't vouch for the Jurassic Park films as I've only seen the original, but, mercy, I can't count how many movies, TV shows, comics, cartoons, etc. idenitfy the far larger crested animal as the bird sized creature.  Admittedly, it's a petty "first world" pet peeve of mine and doesn't affect fuel prices, but I internally flinch when I come across it.

Is this the critter?  Jurassic Park 3 (hate by most loved by me) They nearly kill everyone only to be foiled by Tea Leoni's voice which explodes their brains (spoiler alert)

Think they have a fun scene in Jurassic World but it's a poor movie.

Yes it is, even if the one in JP is a bit Hollywood (no teeth on Pteranodon's)...

  • Awesome Pteranodon Alassandro! I'm finishing up a Giganotosaurus for the store and will be sure to use your Pteranodon in some of the promo art and link the product so hopefully it helps you with some sales. Love your content and looking forward to what you create next!

    Pteranodon-AM

First go at it - really, really quick toss up just to get the idea out of my head and 'on paper'.  Hope to refine it more.

Edit - sorry everyone, I totally posted the wrong image at first. Should be correct now.

I've literally waited years for other products to lower their price. I have many products I haven't used yet so I focus on getting those to make money for me while I wait. Simple economics. You charge a lot to take money from those who want it now. Once you work your way through those people then the money stops rolling in. Then you put it on sale and skim off of people like me. I've noticed some PAs apparently won't budge. Seeems they'd rather not make any money before they put their work on sale. I really want this particular product but I'm in business for myself and there is a difference between want and need. I don't need it right now. Or rather, I don't need it for $20. It's not going to sell well for the markets I work in.

Agree to disagree. First, when you say "you charge a lot to take money from those who want it know"... mmhhh  no I don't feel it that way. As I see it, the price we PA's put are totally fair and cheap, compared to all the work and efforts that go into creating these assets. You probably know nothing about what it takes building 3D models, so probably that is why you give strong judgments lilke "skim off people like me". I don't know (and I don't want to know) what business you say you are in, but if all users would expect to buy 3D models for what... 1, 2 dollars? ... what is your "fair price" that doesn't involve skimming or ripping off users, then we'd be all out of the job and doing something else. Just my opinion.

With respect, I don't think you entirely understand Daz's standard marketing model.

PAs generally have very little say on when their work goes on discount (beyond that most of their back catalogue will go on discount when they put out a new release), and when it does go on sale, it's Daz that sets the % discount, not the vendor.

Just a moment ago, I saw a commercial for the Winter Olympics and they're using critters from the upcoming Jurassic World movie, which I can't wait to see. How timely is this pteronodon if they're starting to promote the Jurassic World movie.

That is an awesome render! Is it actually that big or did you scale it up?

  • Yep, payday for me (retired old fart) is the end of the month, and for sure I'm getting this. Can I throw in a heartfelt request for at least consideration of a Quetzalcoatlus as well in the future? There is one out there, but nobody seems to have anywhere close to the skills of this artist!

Thanks! I actually scaled the Pteranodon up and the horse and rider down. I was chuckling to myself thinking, “If she is telling you about the time she raced a Pteranodon on the beach, just wait until she tells you about the time she caught a Megalodon!”

zombietaggerung, some pteranodon species had wingspans of 20+ feet (7+ metres).

    Posso immaginare l'incazzatura feroce!

Ho accantonato l'opzione di comprare da un sito 3D quando ho saputo che vende modelli rippati dai giochi con molta disinvoltura senza rispettare il diritto d'autore.
