Double your Willow Pleasure

Ever since Willow for G2F was released, I've had the sneaking suspicion it's the same character that was released on Hivewire3D for Dawn.
Finally managed to pick her up this evening and wouldn't you know it, I was right! There are some minor differences, no doubt because of the different base characters, but there's no denying the two are almost identical.
I have to wonder if this is because of the lack of support for Dawn, or was it just a marketing ploy by 3DU?

Probably just tested the waters of the Dawn market. They did this before already. http://hivewire3d.com/alexis-for-dawn.html? and http://www.daz3d.com/charlize-for-genesis-2-female-character
Yep. It's only a shame that there isn't a G2F version of the outfit she's wearing, nor the hair colour. Instead G2F users get a country girl outfit and a rainbow hairstyle. Still adorable, of course, but it's always nice to have more options for your figures. It's surprising though. Why market the same character in two very different ways simply based on the character base?
I can always hope they'll re-release that outfit on G2F, but I won't be holding my breath for it. I don't own Dawn, so getting two different Willow's isn't really an option.
re: Willow's Rainbow Hair
The hair has three material zones. Apply the 1SkullCap material to the other two material zones. I also changed the diffuse color on all material zones to white to remove the orange tint.
You can see that Willow's hair is the same design like Bun Hair, while Charlize's had an inspiration in what one of 3DU's A3 characters wore. Alexis' hair looks very similar to Ranger Hair and what Teen Ashley has, so you could try to use various releases to get the look. And yes, Dawn Willow's clothes, in my humble opinion, are more versatile than Gen2F Willow's.
In fact, the hair for both Willows is the same mesh as the V4A4 Bun Hair, and can use the textures from that and it's expansion. Presets won't work in DS (don't know about Poser yet) but manually loading the textures works well.
Considering that ANY G2F outfit will work on the G2F version of Willow, I see the cowgirl out as an added bonus period and am very happy to have it. Cannot promise it will be seen on any toons in my renders though!
I snagged Wilow for G2F when it was on sale not too long ago, and I love her. I snagged her mainly for the outfit, for my character Tommie Jean Davis, but eventually converted her shape over to Genesis 1 with Gen X2 to use the base shape (at 75%) for Tommie as well. I've also used the poses for Tommie as well, though I have run into somewhat of an "issue" when using them on a Genesis 1 figure; namely, when one of Willow's poses are applied, they also apply a facial expression which is not registered in the Genesis face pose control morphs. This makes it difficult to apply other expressions if I so choose. I even managed to make some custom adjustment morphs for the cutoffs, including open morphs for the front, undress morphs, and pocket bulge morphs for the back pockets (the front pockets are proving more difficult). I also made a custom texture for the shirt, along with a "wet" map.
She really is a great character shape, and very useful for anime style female characters.
Willow for G2f and converted to Genesis 1, can you tell which is which?
My new version of Tommie using the converted Willow shape as the base.
I personally was really grateful that 3DUniverse made Willow for Genesis2F,cause i really loved the look after seeing the Dawn version, but I've already invested too much in the Genesises(is that a real word??)to start getting another figure. So anyway I did grab her when she came out for Genesis2F.I hope that anytime 3DUniverse comes out with another cutie they will make it for every figure they can ....it's good business sense.
Oh yea Tramp graphics I think the Willow standing is Genesis1
