Mini Bundle suggestion.

As the title says a suggestion for mini bundles for new characters.

How it would work using P3D Brittany as an example-

A new character is released as a stand alone (as now) but also the character is released alongside a bundle that includes the character and a defining item or 2 that is included in the main promo image, the item does not need to be new and could be hair or clothing.

So for P3D Brittany that would mean the release of the character as stand alone but alongside a mini bundle that includes the big afro.

Pros-

Helps sell the character as people know they can buy that exact character from the image that made them want to buy the character.

Gives PA's another bite at the front page cherry with items obviously still good enough to sell you a new character.

More convenent for the buyer and less hassle to spend money.

Cons-

Not all promos use items that are sold in store.

Might limit peoples ability or want to kitbash/ improve existing store items for promos.

More convenent for the buyer and less hassle to spend money.

If anyone has any idea to improve this suggestion or why it can't / shouldn't be done put it below please.

  • I like the idea too and think there should be themes. There's a new Edwardian dress out that's pretty good from what I've seen and that can work with historical and steampunk.

I have ideas for what can go in packs too like:

    - Shader sets and not just for the specific clothes tho those too but like a sci fi themed bundle including a sci fi shader set

    - Settings

    - Props you can be encouraged to use, like turning a cyberpunk environment into a solarpunk one by including lots of plants and green energy props that naturally work with the included cyberpunk setting

    - Clothes

    - And of course maybe characters

  • I thought the Ysabeau 6 mini bundle was a good idea, way back when...

A little bundle based around stuff people want, priced at a point where many would buy in. That just makes sense to me.

It's not really rocket surgery, IMO... maybe it's too expensive versus the price point of a mini bundle for Daz to put together the mini bundles on spec? I don't know.

Personally, I miss the Pro bundles; I've bought 2 bundles I think since they stopped.

Most people - from what I could tell from reading the forum - wanted themed; myself, I save lots cause the theme is not what I'm interested in.

The pro bundles often had something I was interested in.

Daz do keep trying new bundles and bring lots of variety.#

... Generally though, I build my own bundles when they hit the 1.99 mark - and sometimes 2.99.

Don't we get bundles like that all the time?

    Just recently:

    https://www.daz3d.com/gyrowheel-spin-bundle

    https://www.daz3d.com/cyber-dream-bundle

    https://www.daz3d.com/alessiah-nightmare-before-xmas-bundle

They all cointain a new character + some related-ish stuff (although two of the bundles are not named after the character.)

It's a good idea. Several vendors outsource their promo images though, sometimes even to several artists at once for the same product, resulting in 3-4 radically different sets of outfits and props.
Some PA's even create their own bundles. The Raiya/outoftouch bundles for example. And the Linday/Mousso bundles are awesome as well. Not cheap (though you might catch a good discount at times), but they are pretty good. These are basically the best "out of the box like it was on the picture" bundles available. It's a shame Emma and Jordi are gone, they used to sell some complete figures including clothing, and if something on the picture wasn't in the product, then it was usually still easy to find in their own shop.

Bundles with both new and old products are harder to sell. Especially people who already have some of the older components tend to be hesitant, unless there's a very good discount for having the older components, making the bundle cost at most as much for them as buying the new components seperately, provided they are interested in all the new components, and not just half of them.. That's why "Buy X + Y + Z to pick 1-2 select items for free" deals are more common here. The latter provide a bit more freedom for the cart you assemble, and make it less complicated to figure out whether it's a good deal or not.
