Black eyes in C4D 23/Octane

June 2021 in Cinema 4D Discussion

No matter what I do, how I adjust the ray epsilon or change out the Octane materials, the eyes look brutal on a DAZ character: either completely black or dull after removing the eye occlusion map.

I cannot seem to make the irises look like they do in DAZ, even after adding Octane lights.

Straight import into Cinema is fine but then I lose all the wonderful features of Octane. which seem to work fine in DAZ itself.

Unfortunately with all the changes being made in Cinema 4D materials are still one with issues to fix. The standard materials work fine but updates are needed for the material conversions.

I will run more tests on octane once I got the converted materials down. In the meantime, you can also grab the last version here.

Travis David's shows a fix to this. Push back a part of the eye just slightly. The scolera?
It ended up being an easy fix.
