How do you get the skin to shine like this?
in The Commons
Hi all. This product here pretty much as every image of the character having shinny skin that I can seem to do. I really like how he/she has a nice white shine all over the skin. Does anyone know what the trick is?
Thank you for any help and I hope everyone has a good day.

You can try Dual Lobe Specular, when you move the Dual Lobe Specular Weight slider some additional specular controls will show up, play with these:

That is extremely helpful. Thank you so much
Very impressive, thankyou @Taoz!
You're welcome, glad to help!
Oh my ... that screencast site looks handy. I hope more people here catch on and use that (or similar) to demonstrate techniques. Thanks.
You can also set the dual lobe 1 roughness to 0.5/0.6 and set the topcoat to reflect mode (The default) and either set the power to 25 or use a greyscale/spec map in the color setting and set the roughness to 0.1 for a natural wet look!
This also works for PBR as well!
That is funny as I was just wondering why they didn't just upload to the post/Daz instead of using an external site that I can't view without enabling some of the scripts i have blocked.
You get a free 2 GB space / 2 GB bandwidth Screencast account when buying SnagIt. If you capture a video with Snagit which is very simple you can then upload it automatically from SnagIt to Screencast with two clicks and then just post the link.
I don't think the DAZ forum supports videos other than on youtube (which I don't use)?
Though on the free account the vidoes expire after 12 months, you need the paid Pro account which is a bit expensive if you want to get rid of the time limit.
That's what I thought too. The point I was trying to make is that it is nice to see a screencast rather than a bunch of still captures. If there is a way of uploading (to this forum) OBS screencasts, for example, even better.
Thanks a lot, @takezo_3001!
Now there's shiny and wet look covered in this thread, awesome!
For a wet look there is a thread here, GlennF posted a normal map there for simulating water drops:

You're basically simulating a coating of oil.
Top coat should work.
