I'm actually wondering whether I could convert it to some intergalactic cruiseship somehow. Mostly by re-texturing the deck, adding a nice roof with lots of windows on top of it (it's ceiling just a tad lower than the tower/bridge), maybe some inner walls on the rear side for 5* luxury cabins, and, ofcourse, a pool in the elevator shaft.
On a sidenote, a re-master of the Vanguard would be awesome as well. It's a great vessel, but it is very much a poser-asset. It's not too hard to convert its current materials to iray, but it would be really welcome if we could change the interior a bit further and more conveniently, with new higher resolution materials, options to add and remove seating, desks and consoles. Basically, features that could repurpose the vessel, to (for example) a civilian personel shuttle or the space-equivalent of a luxurious private jet. The exterior is already perfect for that, but the interior is very hard to handle.
Yeah, I would actually have got it if it came with an alternative texture without the runway, for a space asset (runways being pointless in vacuum). Beautifully crafted, but can only think of MCU-themed fan art uses for it.
Really neat that it has ventral turrets and that the deck comes apart to double as an elevator, though.
It has a "Battlestar Galactica" feel for me.
Oh my aching credit card!
But finally I can park the Vanguard somewhere;)
Actually, didn't DrWho have one of those hovering-in-the-sky aircraft carriers once? I don't remember what the design of that one was like, though, it was.... like... a decade ago or more...
That was Torchwood (a Dr Who Spinoff), and theirs was based on the Cloudbase in Gerry Anderson's 'Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'... great shows, all three, in their own way.
That said, yes, that carrier looks really cool!
Actually, the story I was thinking of was that one in DrWho where the Master came back from trillions of years into the future and took over control of the Earth. There was a breif scene of the carrier in the clouds in that episode. My hazey recollection was that the Master had made that carrier his HQ or something.
I really like this model but it would be even better if there was an interior for it. I'm hoping that Kibarreto builds some interiors for it like he did for the Astromaster and the Starjet.
Ah, true. The two-part episode where the doctor looked like a sad version of the Gollum...
