Definitely preferable than seeing kids in a thong or undies with undress morphs set. ;)
The according expression should come with the item
That works. ;) Definitely would like to see my products used like that than some of the images where they are in their underwear looking like they're ready to make out by candlelight.

I had been thinking of something in-between when I opened this topic. Some modern, stylish stuff and above all toys for older kids.
Eventually it needs a new topic for ethical questions. "Is the producer, the provider responsible when his products are abused?"
Greetings,
This is a very touchy subject, so it's hard to have a solid conversation without getting into places where people hold exceptionally strong opinions. With Genesis, DAZ had active countermeasures against people putting gens on the 'Basic Child' morph, for example. With G2F and G2M they avoided that problem entirely, by not having a child morph, and leaving it to 3rd parties to eventually provide.
So pretty clearly DAZ, the company, feels some responsibility to make it non-trivial to use the software in certain ways. It's not HARD, but it's not trivial. And that's about as far as you can go; individual PAs, companies, etc., gauge their own feelings on responsibility versus difficulty-to-avoid. So, for instance, it's very hard (maybe impossible) for a PA to make a functioning teen character that can't be posed in sexualized ways, so they make fewer/no teen characters, to avoid the concern. Or they make them and shrug off the concerns. You can't TELL a PA or company to feel more or less on the subject, it's really up to how they feel.
Despite my comments above, I kind of hate that this is the direction many threads about kids stuff goes, eventually. :( No blame, or anything like that, it's just...sad-making.
I really like the part of the conversation about kid-friendly clothing, variety in character skins and facial morphs, and such. It'd also be great to have more kid-friendly pose sets. The problem with all of this is that kids items sell worse than male items, apparently. :) Also kids change a LOT from 4 to around 19, whereas adults don't...really change much from around 19 to mid-50's, so it's much easier to provide for a wide range of adults than it is kids.

I appreciate your contribution to this thread, dear Cypherfox (and I like your profil pic ;) You phrased my thoughts much better than I would be able to, with my poor English. Yes, sometimes I regretted having started this topic. And I will think twice before I would post the next one concerning the kids. But something inside longs for a similar reaction when we talk about grownup girls
Hi.
I am new to Daz and would like to just do some kids models with clothing that I have purchased. I am so confused and have spent a lot with little results.
If you have come guidance on what products I need and what I need to return that would be wonderful.
I have purchased Red Riding Hood for Maddie and Preschooler hooded cloak and would like to dress a model and I would like to dress other children's models such as Matt.
I am rather confused as what models to select so that Maddie and Matt will work with the clothing. Do I need all the things that I have purchased below just to dress a child model in clothing that I have purchased for Millennium Kids - Preschoolers clothing?
I have also purchased:
V3 and M3 Shapes for Genesis
GenX2 AddOn Gen3 Kids
Victoria 3.0 Base
Millennium Boys
Millennium Girls
Michael 4 Base
Victoria 4.2 Base
The Kids 4 Base
Millennium Kids- Preschoolers
regards
Natalie
There's a detailed thread by Scott Livingston on the history of the DAZ figures, but in summary:
"Millennium Girls" and "Millennium Boys" are the oldest of the DAZ child figures, based on Victoria 1/2.
Millennium Kids-Preschoolers are Matt and Maddie, and along with Millennium Kids-Young Teens (Luke and Laura) are 3rd Generation figures, based on Victoria 3. There's probably more clothing available for them than any other child figures, like the items you mentioned. They also come with a hybrid figure that can wear the clothes for the previous figures.
The Kids 4 are 4th Generation figures. They don't include a hybrid to wear Matt and Maddie's clothes.
The V3 and M3 Shapes for Genesis will enable you to autofit V3 and M3 clothes to Genesis, which is the 5th Generation figure. Genesis comes with the ability to autofit 4th Generation clothes.
The GenX2 add-on for the Gen3 Kids, along with GenX2, allows you to transfer morphs (shapes) from the 3rd Generation kids to Genesis (and to Genesis 2 if you have the Genesis 2 add-on). It won't allow you to use their clothes, however.
There are other programs to convert clothing, such as Wardrobe Wizard and CrossDresser.
What you first need to determine is what clothes you want to use. You purchased a number of different figures and each of them (for the most part) has their own clothes and is not cross-wear-able.
Going off just the "kids", you have:
Millennium Kids-Preschoolers (Matt/Maddie)
Kids4
Millennium Boys & Girls
GenX Addon for Gen3 Kids
Now as you mentioned, you purchased Red Riding Hood for Maddie and Preschooler Cloak. For these items you only need the stand-alone figure: Millennium Kids-Preschoolers -OR- if you want to use Genesis for this same item, you will need the following products:
Genesis2
Victoria3
Michael3
GenX Addon for Kids
GenX Addon for V3/M3
Disclaimer: I do not use Genesis, so I cant speak too well how this all works together for Genesis as I was just reading the product description for the GenX Addon for Kids product. But alot more is involved if you want to use the Genesis version as opposed to the stand-alone figure.
If you have any other questions, please speak up... the forum is very helpful.
Good Luck!

GenX is used to transfer morphs, not clothes. It won't help at all if you want to convert Matt and Maddie clothes to Genesis or Genesis 2.
The easiest way to convert those clothes to Genesis is to use a converter like evilinnocense's Crossdresser or Wardrobe Wizard, which support Genesis 1.
I don't think either of them supports Genesis 2 so to convert to G2M / G2F you'd need to convert to Genesis 1 first, then use autofit to convert from G1 to G2.
Ouch... even worse than thought.
Better off just using the stand-alone Millennium Kids-Preschoolers figure and call it a day.
