Need barbed wire fence model
I've looked everywhere and can find plenty of barbed wire fences models (including the posts) for Bryce but nothing in any other format. I can't believe that there is not this sort of basic fence model out there. Can use any Poser, Vue, obj., etc, format. If none available, would appreciate if one of you modelers would create one. It should have three to four strands of barbed wire between the posts. Many thanks to anyone who can provide links or a model.
PS. I'm willing to even consider purchasing such a model, if any one knows of a link to such.

Fenced in the Commons, as it is a request for, not an offer of, a freebie.
Frankly, I am baffled and unhappy that you did this. GENERAL FREEBIE REQUESTS is the thread and that is what I initially asked for--for links to barbed wire fence models. It seemed to me that this thread was VERY appropriate to what I was asking for. It certainly was consistent with all those other previous request in the thread. And I'm pretty sure that I could go back through all those request of that thread and find any number of examples of requests for models to be made if no links were to be had. Please remove my request from the General wherever it is you sent it. I do not go there.
I am disappointed to feel that I am being treated differently from every one else using this thread.

I made one with an overrun morph even, if I could find where I put it...
it's very easy to hit New Topic instead of Post Reply. If you like we can merge the actual request and reply with the request thread.
Would this barbed wire be useful?

Hi Jer :-)
I got a complete Fence fabrication lot quite a long while ago.
Its made by Zippy, but I've just tried to access his site 'zippys 3d models' and the url is now showing 'Not Known' and 'available'
So I can't tell you where to get these.
For the life of me I can't remember WHERE I got the 'Security Fence' (as it's called) and searching my content doesent tell me it's (store) origin. I certainly don't remember visiting the Zippy site, but found his url in the 'read me' attached to the file.
It's quite a large file, split into 3 zip's, and the gates are actually Character (CR2's) files, being fully open/shut,able, whilst the main fence bits ( including extra posts etc.) are 'Prop(PP2's) Plus, of course, all the geometry (OBJ.) and text files.
Oh, and yeah, all Poser stuff, but work wonderfully well in DAZ (I don't bother with Poser being a DAZaholic!) :red:
If this is the sort of thing you're after give me a shout ( PM ) an' I'll try to help ;-)

EDIT: These are just a sample of the stuff in the package, there's more vatiations of the same, like different style gates, Lit/un-lit, electrified, and not. different wire mesh on the gates (single/Double) same for the fences..
I was looking for it but I think that Zippy's website is down. I have anyway not found it. Perhaps that someone knows if it is still available.
There are also these free sets at Turbosquid:

I have linked the artist's page since different sets are available.
Yeah. I did a pretty extensive net-search before posting, so that I could direct him to the 'source' so-to-speak. .. NO JOY :-S
Me-thinks the site is no-more. :blank:

Found one!!!
There's a section of barbed wired fence in Ken Gilleland's Perching Places. It used to be here at DAZ but is over at Hivewire now. You might want to wait for a sale though--lots of goodies in the pack.

You could use multiple sections of this one available at Turbosquid for $5

Adam Thwaites/Most Digital Creations just posted a free barbed wire fence prop on his site.
It's a "subscription download", which means that to get the prop, you have to enter your email address, which is then added to his mailing list. However, if you don't want the emails (which are announcements of free and paid products) you can always unsubscribe as soon as the first email arrives. My experience has been that he honors unsubscribe requests immediately and completely, and does not resell or share your address (I use 'tagged' addresses, so I can tell if someone does this), so I think it's safe to give him your address. However, you should make up your own mind whether this is something you feel comfortable doing or not.
