DSON Question

I am happy with Poser and am not interested in Genesis.

Shocking, I know.

Anyhow, there are some products that I have purchased, like the nettles and short ponytail that seem to require the DSON importer. How do I install those on my Windows machine?

Taken from an other thread as Richard explained it quite well ;)

Install the DSON Importer (should find Poser automatically, but check the path)

Install both the DSON Core and the Poser CF files for the products you want to use to a Poser content library - that is, to the folder that contains the Runtime folder. You should end up with a Data folder and one or more other folders (People, for example) alongside the Runtime.

Find the content in your library and load it.

OK, I installed DSOn. And I installed the srot ponytail. The ponytail is in my library, but when I load it, it does not appear.

(NB, I have not installed Genesis for my own reasons).

Did you install both the DSON core and the PoserCF packs? The PoserCF has only the library files, not the geometry or textures.

Yes, but it is still not working. Do I need to have Studio as well?

No, you don't. Where did you install the files?

One thing to check, you are loading the model and not a material file? For the hair that would be
    Hair>DAZ Genesis 2 Female>Short Ponytail>Short Ponytail

I am loading the model. I installed everything from both files that was under the runtime folder in the Poser runtime folder.

You also need the Data folder that's alongside the Runtime folder.

    Where do you put it?

In the same folder as the Runtime folder, not underneath it.

If you are manually unzipping, the folders inside the zip's Content folder in the zip go to the content library - for example, Public Documents\Smith Micro\Poser 10 content if you have Poser 10 and use the defaults. If you use Install manager then you should point it to the same location.
