Odd. I like the lighting, though!

Didn't happen again so... A ways to go yet but getting there

It'll be interesting to see how this ends up.

Hopefully something like this once I get the adaptive sampling render settings right :)

Is an eight hour + render for 174 frames so I'll have another go around overnight

    So it's an animation?

    Dana

Scene from a short (indi) film

I want to try a simple animation in DS. Car going up hill on a mountain...trees and road and some foreground grass and weeds that stick up and pass by as the camera keeps pace with the car. I don't know if I can do it or not. I want to use pwToon on the scene, too.

    Dana

Sounds really do-able in Studio, do yourself a favour and render in lowest possible rez while you get the movements right :)

I've done a few brief animations.. yeah, 320x240 is good to check motion and such, run with a high shading rate to start, beware fancy lighting and high reflection counts.

I've done flybys at 30fps, 10 seconds, that took 45 min to render - which is decent for any render engine. Your proposed scene is far more complex, though, and will take quite some time I imagine.

DS's Timeline is a PITA, it needs ease-in/ease-out curves for motion but you can fake it with a carpload of keyframes.

    Best of luck!

There are a couple of addons for the animate plugin that make keyframing a bit easier :)

I don't have animate, though. And I can't keep spending money. Does DS come with a free "lite" version of animate2? Would that be usefull for a car, anyway? The AM Limo has a wheel spin dial I think. It would seem to be a pain to keep changing that every frame, though. Perhaps it wouldn't matter with the pwToon shader applied, I don't know.

    Dana

Yes it is in a tab called Timeline, if you open it you will see a series of little blocks where you set (and delete) keyframes with the lil buttons with key icons :)

Not to be rude but to the person who complained that my character in Star Wars The Old Republic is only at level 25:

Hello? I was using a single core 1.8 GHz computer and an old video card. The minimum specifications for SWTOR is a 2 GHz dual core computer with an nVidia 7800 or better. The game pauses every 2 minutes. Plus, I am a free to play customer who receives experience points at a lower rate. Everyone else on Tatooine is two or three levels above me. Also, I've been busy studying. Please don't be so judgmental. Thank you.

    *steps off soap box*

And don't be quite so quick to assume someone is 'complaining', rather than perhaps simply intending gentle teasing. I'm not sure which server you are on, but if we share a server and a time online, I would be happy to help you out if I have a character of the right faction and level. If you ever see an 'Omegan' Legacy name, that's probably me. And I'd offer to have my 55's back you, but they would really nerf your xp.

    worky work, worky work...
Trying to play catch-up with my Web Design class. Behind by a few lessons but thankfully the actual graded stuff hasn't started yet :)

So far it's been kinda fun, but then again everything's so simple at this point - I'm sure the fun aspect will dissipate fairly soon

Thanks, I kind of thought so. But is aniMate Lite free with DS? I guess I'll just have to fish around and find out. There were some free aniBlocks, but I don't think any for the AM Limo.

There's a simple recipe that Diane and I like once in a while. It came from a Campbell's Chunky Soup cookbook we had at one time, maybe still have it. It's called Mexicali Burgers. It involves a can of stewed tomatoes, chili powder, and Minute Rice and an oven. Maybe it can be done in a microwave, I don't know. Found it online for you...Mexicali Burgers

AniMate Lite is installed on my DS4.6 Pro, I didn't buy anything special.

Stared at it for 10 minutes and went back to the Timeline, which makes intuitive sense for this old-skool animator... :blank:

Like Richard said, you need aniBlocks to work with it. There are some free ones, but not a lot that I can tell.
Just Googled and found this: Wolfs free aniblocks for V4

And then did a search in ShareCG for aniBlock and found this page:
    [url=http://www.sharecg.com/b/21/DAZ-Studio/?keywords=aniBlocks&member;_type[All]=on&attribute;[4277][-1]=1&attribute;[4279][-1]=1&attribute;[4278][-1]=1&tdm=a&s=rd]aniBlock search results

I don't know if that link will work...we'll see when I post. It has a lot of brackets in it.
