how to add a shader domain to g8.1 character preset?

i'm using noise for specular highlights, but it's making inner nostril glow.

if I could put inner nostril into it's own shader domain, i could use noise on the rest of the skin.

i see the material library equal to shader domains,
but i dont see how to use a modifier for it.

dont really want to make nose plugs.

thanks.

  • Just be aware when reading what I say below that I'm using G8 not G8.1, but it should work.

Find the areas that are glowing on the face UV map, and create an emissivity map where everything is black except the areas that glow. Make those white on the map. Now apply the map to the face and give the emissivity a value of -600 as a first try, then increase the numbers after that. This negative emissivity is absorbing light and should counteract the glow from the nostrils. This idea also can be extended to other areas as an exaggerated ambient occlusion creator.

    Regards,

    Richard

Only a Character preset, used to load a new figure rather than modify a selected figure, can change the geometry.

Is a shader domain a material zone?

had an idea enlightened thinkin i dont need a separate domain for lips, what if i moved the verts around with a uv swap?

put the inner nostil under the lips, and put the lips verts in the face domain

it'll be a leetl confusing to remember lips are inner nostril.
