Talking about sleep, I need to get some. It is going to be hard because I drank a large cherry coke staring around 4pm. Actually a little earlier than that because the movie started at 4pm. Now I want to dress that raccoon I just got up just like the character in the movie.

A quick Google search brings up some various results, if you're really curious about it.

You can make grass, hair, and even linked chainmail vests with it.

Basically I want to know can fibermesh hair follow Genesis like regular hair?

That I don't know. I don't even know if FiberMesh meshes can be exported out or if they're app-specific. So far I haven't seen any real need to use that feature since I don't plan on doing scene renders in Zbrush nor do I have any real use for 'hair' as of yet. So I don't know too much about its specifics. Pixologic's site might be the best place to look. Or their forums, if you have Zbrush yourself.

http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/1106-MicroMesh-Techniques-in-ZBrush Found the tutorial I was thinking of by the way.

I have Zbrush and I need to reinstall it after the computer reset I did a short while back. I need to find the disc it is on or redownload it and that would be a pain to do as Zbrush is not a small file.

Sometimes I find it interesting the size files some say are huge and think that a couple gb file to download is big. My opinion is that if it is not measured in GB it is not a huge file.

I think Sam looks better with longer hair.

If it takes over an hour to download when my connection is excellent at the time, then it's huge to me - GB or not. Anything more than 400MB takes quite a while to download when I'm not in my home in the next valley over (I'm generally here once every other week) and anything a GB or more is pretty much going most of the day and sometimes into the night. Assuming it doesn't corrupt halfway through or the internet goes out.

Less than 300MB or so I might call large or very large I guess, but it doesn't have to be a gigabyte or larger to be 'huge' in my opinion. But that's for downloads. Even on local files, it still seems kinda big to me :)

Complaint: Get an item for $.99 if you purchase one that costs $32.95. Are they kidding? This is a "deal"? With deals like that, who needs to be robbed?

Jack Tomalin's stuff is always really nice, but someone has forgotten that most of us are hobbyists! And not even an introductory discount.

Well, it's way out of reach for me, that's for sure.

    Dana

Umm... it's showing as $2.79 for Platea Pergo as PC+, around $20 for it at full price, so I'm not sure where your numbers are coming from.

There are two PC offers (well, three including a $oof$ code) - 50% or 60% off Platea if bought with Pergo, and an item for $0.99 if bought with any new item.

Yes. Since he was talking about Jack Tomalin, I assumed he was talking about the Platea stuff. My one complaint is that the Epic Bundle contains the base model, so essentially I have to buy it twice if I want to get the full thing. Of course, even then it's only $24 for that plus (I assume) the $.99 item. Less, if you can use the coupon.

sounds like you actually unnerstand the sales rules

Well, I have the Wednesday morning rules just about sorted... as long as I'm on the dealer's right. Saturday evenings, opposite the dealer are a whole different matter. Especially if it's a full moon....

Sam? Toon Sam? Oh, did they make a Genesis version of him? I forget, but it seems to be a vague recollection.

I rather like the new one they did for Dawn, Willow. Really cute. I don't normally go for the toon stuff, but I did get Cookie and Chip. And if I had the money I'd pick up Lil Bit.

Alright, now the Digital Tutors website is freaking out on my laptop's FireFox too. Was working JUST TEN MINUTES AGO, and now *poof*. Messed up site that's nearly impossible to browse (Meaning when I scroll down all the video links are just crammed in there and difficult to click on, instead of being tidy thumbnails)

Their forums work just fine, but not the main site :(

*sigh*, back to Opera I guess.

I have the newest Firefox and it seems OK to me. I don't have an account at Digital Tutors, though, so maybe it's not the same layout. I'm just on the front landing page. It has six images (two rows of three) with categories/options and the under that a bunch of icons for different software (two rows of seven each).

So it's not Firefox. Maybe you need to refresh the page or do a hard refresh or maybe even clear your cache.

Wow! I guess I'm spoiled! I've been getting a little better than 3 MB/second (usually 3.1 to 3.4) from DAZ3D lately. So that file would take no more than 136.6666 seconds...that's a little over two minutes. :gulp:

I haven't cleared my cache yet, but I've done restarts (Both to my computer and to FireFox) so that might be it. It's happening with both v25 (Laptop) and the most recent one (Desktop) so it's probably a problem on my end.

I wouldn't know. I don't even know what either of those are

I haven't explored the FiberMesh side of Zbrush just yet so I don't know much about it other than the brief bits I've glanced over while reading the book I have and while passing through the 'Introducing Zbrush' sections of DT. I'm still learning my way around things at the moment :)

That's the sort of download speeds I can expect when in Ukiah :)
Well, best case speeds anyway. Sometimes it's around 1MB, give or take.

I've got Comcast and a good connection in my room, ethernet cable and etc... Back in the other valley getting a 135kb download is considered 'fast'

Yeah, I have Comcast, too. I"ve seen faster download speeds elsewhere. No matter how fast your connection is, it also depends on the server at the other end of the connection. Some people don't understand that, they think every site should be the same speed because they're paying for the fast connection.

Cinema 4D's not too big on its own, but with the extras CD it can be pretty big. Can't remember exactly how much though, but I've always gotten it shipped to me physically so... :)

I remember R11 came with a second DvD that was for advanced rigging techniques. Pretty cool! Also cool was the Studio edition back then had a decently modeled dragon with a fantastic rigging setup. Put a plane or something underneath it, grab the controller above the dragon and lift, and the legs would dangle like it was jumping. Then pull it back down and the legs and feet would react to the ground regardless of what kind of geometry it was.

Unfortunately, it required Studio (Which I did not and still do not have) and was rigged with the Bone tool, which was obsoleted in R11.5 and removed entirely in R12. It can still be loaded up, but the rigging would break during the Bones to Joints conversion. Heck, you can actually load R15 and R16 files inside of R13 - you just won't be able to take advantage of any new features/fixes :)

You can make grass, hair, and even linked chainmail vests with it.

Basically I want to know can fibermesh hair follow Genesis like regular hair?

It can be exported as OBJ and turned into Poser/DS hair - and has been. The problem is that in most cases the need to keep the file size manageable means that the hair can look coarse, though I've felt the same about a lot of images of Fibremesh hair in ZBrush where it's presumably still "live" and not baked to OBJ.

It was my understanding that both Garibaldi and Look at my Hair are FiberMesh. Am I wrong?

    Dana

Both of those use curves in 3delight, so they are like (non-baked) Fibremesh in that the bulk of the data is not generated until needed but they are a different system - though LaMH is going to be able to read Fibremesh daat, I think (or may already be able to, I own it but haven't had time to update).

Sam?

No Sam is short for Samantha. It is actually Aiko 5 but changed her name to Sam.

    Sam looks good :)

Does she look better with the short hair or the long hair?

Long hair. But that's my preference.

There are pros and cons for both hey. The flat top is startling and tough, She looks tough it suits her :)

I guess tough is one word. :) But remember, I thought it was Sam of the Toon Sam and Sade characters.
