how to open this outfit in the LIE

(pic 1) I not used the LIE in a while but know the general process but I am doing something wrong being the outfit selected that I want to work on isn't showing up in the LIE frame when I open it through the base colour LIE selection (pic 2) Please tell me what I am missing here pls.

Are you doing one surface at a time? Can't do the whole garment at once. Once it opens, zoom to fit to see the whole bitmap, otherwise you will only see the upper left corner.

I see what you are saying and it worked like you said when I did it on individual parts of the outfit but when I try something else (see pic 1 and 2) it doesn't seem to load up if I pic single parts.
There doesn't appear to be any image to work with. There is usually a bitmap already in place. You can start with applying a material preset of some kind, or selecting a bitmap to use in the base color channel before opening the LIE. Or, in LIE, you can add a layer, then fill it with a bitmap, add another layer, fill it, etc.
