2021-03 OOT Hair issue

There is a weird issue with the new OOT 2021-03 Hair.  I tried it on both G8F and G8.1F.  It happened against the clothes but not against a white flat plane.   Ive tried different things to try to fix the issue. I used Colorwerks hair shader thinking it might be the shader then I tried the trick to fix the cut out issue in 4.15 and that didn't do anything. I also made sure the hair was well away from the body and that didn't fix it either.

  • Opacity / Transparency is an issue with 4.15. It has been reported in the PA products thread on various occasions. The only "fault" with the hair is that it is transparency mapped.... I am afraid there is not much you can do at the moment.

    I know about the transparency issue.  And I tried the trick changing the cut out to 0.99.  I was trying to see if there might be another solution that someone knew of. I tried to keep up with most threads but its impossible to know if there has been another fix without going through hundreds of messages.

    I'm apparently out of the loop a bit regarding this - does that mean that ALL transmapped hair does not work in 4.15?

    Because, holy cow, that would make updating prohibitive frown

    after further testing I have determined its a shadow issue.  In some lights it is not so obvious, in others its very obvious.

    @Barubary They work you just have to go to the Surface tab and set cut out opacity to 0.99 instead of 100%.  So far I have not run into one that this does not work for.  But I have not tested extensively on this issue.

  • Could this issue also be causing a problem with hair having a blue 'cap' visible in renders? I've tried a few different hair models, and they all have this issue.

    Ah, that's a relief, thank you very much for the info smiley  I was just about to update for Genesis 8.1, but I do love my outoftouch hair, so that not working would have been a real bummer laugh Also sorry for sidetracking the thread >.<;

    I have not had an issue with a blue cap, that sounds like textures are not being applied correctly.  What hairs are you trying and ill give them a test run?

    @Barubary Your welcome and no worries.  I was wondering if others were having the issue but I guess not or at least they are not on the forums.  I used Side Swept Hair in a review in Novica's Art Studio thread with a comparison of this hair because it was pointed out how simuliar they are.
