Required DS Version for Spring Dynamics

Is 4.15 really required for Spring Dynamics to work? It seems like what is listed as Compatible Software on the product page is never anything other than the current DS version. If anybody is able to run the script in 4.14 or 4.12, I'd appreciate knowing - thanks!
