I'm at the point where I believe we won't get any cute little doggie or kitty, because these types of adorable animals aren't really used in "Patreon Exclusive" content. Or even in games, because it's not something your player character would beat up/take to a fight. :/

There are a couple of small breeds available via HiveWire Big Dog and Sparky's (PhilosphersEgg) morphs.

In MMOs cute animals are player's pets and helpers, though. You feed them food, they help you with items or enemies on the field.

How ever cute they may be, It's hard to imagine anything more scary than German Shephard-size Chihuahua would be wink

Certainly wouldn't be lap dogs any more !

  • a Chihuahua sized German Shepherd would be sooooo cute heart

  • A GSD sized Maine Coon Cat. I can dream. The lap would be a problem though.

    Richard.

  • Yeah. My grandfather had a close encounter with 2 man-eating Leopards in India in the late 1920's. I have the rather motheaten skin of the second still, from July 1928. He laid a goat as bait and waited in a tree. It joined him on the branch of the tree after he shot it the first time, and it was somewhat unhappy with him. His second, fatal, shot was delivered as he fell backwards out of the tree. That Leopard had killed 3 people, and it was only seconds from making it 4.

    Regards,

    Richard.

  • I already have two mini schnauzers, Luna and Phoebe.

    Also known as:

    Luna Betuna

    Bannana Fish

    Luda Butinsky

    Sausage Belly... oh so smelly

    and,

    The Bittle Fish

    The Wee Bittle

    The Stinky Little

    Little Scamp

    etc...

Our pups arent spoiled at allcheeky

  • I've only ever had medium and large dogs over the years. One thing I learned about a Shepard/Husky/St Bernad mix, never leave anything on the coffee table, one swipe of the tail and everything is gone...lol

As to only large dogs being used in games....Daz does not exist only for games, there are also images for books, manga and comics, animation of any kind, as well as many other things it's used for. If vendors are the ones deciding not to make small dogs for whatever reason, who exactly gave them the power to decide what anyone wants?

Anyone here who knows anything about morphs can create small dogs from the existing models available here and elsewhere. If none know how to do this...no better time then now to learn.

    Yorkshire Terrier!  Yorkshire Terrier!!  Yorkshire...!!!

DAZ Dog 8 was listed at a discount last week. Haven't tried morphing it down yet.

    Excellent Jack Russell! Thanks Bunyip02.

The problem with most small dog breeds is that they really need the hair to work, and hair isn't morphing.

My heart skipped two beats when I saw today's doggy promos... but nah,... not yet another bulldog (I believe I already have one).

I'm not too fond of flat-faced domesticated animals, but I'll support any regular or non-creepy monster characters for Dog 8. I just have him in my cart and picking out stuff from the slash sale. :)

Second MimicMolly's suggestion for more monster doggies.

Yes the two renders above are the English Bulldog.

I use Carrara so you will need someone who uses DAZ Studio to chip in and explain dforce fur.

Flat faced pals often have medical issues associated with them. My doggie pal is a Jack Russell/Mini Foxie cross so longer nosed.

Let me specify, I want more "monster" ones like Oso's Lechuza and Pooka. But also ones like Midnight Stories' Anubis Hound, RawArt's Bear Dog, and GhostOfMacbeth's Warg HD. Don't want undead or demon dogs. Even a cartoony dog that would stylistically match with Toon Dwayne 8. Just more variety in random shapes to mix and match, and match. But for the purpose of this thread, cute lap dogs and puppies are appreciated too.
  • I wonder if the reason for the lack of small dogs is the difference in size causes problems when it comes to morphs, such as someone mentioned earlier about the hair morphing? If this is the case, could not Daz create a separate small dog people can use, then they have two items for sale instead of one and everyone is happy.  I would like to see a pug, simply because my sister in law has 2 of them and her kids each have one or two, and so do several other people I know. The only pug I have found here is the toon one by 3DUniverse, which is adorable and plan to get one of these days, just not what I'm currently looking for.

Size difference shouldn't be that much of a problem since you can scale even the current ones smaller than a mouse without issues, it's all about the form and proportions.
