  Interesting! I show $310K at list price (16068 items), but I may be including items vault/discontinued since mid-2012 and bundles, so a certain amount of redundancy. $275K without anything that has 'bundle' in its title (15388 items).

  I should probably run a test that determines if any items in my database have been vaulted... I bet a bunch have, most commonly PC specials that bundle a bunch of items together, and a few PA's who are no longer here.

  Sadly not true - the "Microsoft support" calls, for example, don't target dishonesty but merely ignorance. The "can't con an honest man" is largely there in fiction to make stories about cons palatable.

  I rather think the expression means that if you're dishonest you lose your ability to detect/sense dishonesty in others.

  Well, the SKUs haven't quite hit 20,000 (and some of those are different versions of the same thing, or different bundle options, or vaulted or withdrawn items). Assuming an average price of $25, which seems high, then the whole lot would be under half-a-million dollars.

  A lot of the SKUs are unused, the total number of items (used SKUs) is currently about 14300.
