Smart Content Not Filtering Products Correctly

So I've been having issues for the past week with my Smart Content pane. I really need to work on my categories again because this has become frustrating. Anyway, with some figures selected, the Smart Content pane isn't properly showing items that work with that figure.
Case in point: Today I was working with Kittie for Kanade 8. I needed a hair. Only when I clicked on the product list, hair was missing from the list. Smart Content wouldn't list a single hair that worked with Kittie. Same thing happened yesterday with Edie 8. No hairs listed. The category was completely missing from the list. I had to uncheck the filter to show only items for that character to get the Hair category to show up.
Is this a metadata issue, a store issue, or some other issue I haven't thought about yet?
It's not just the Hair category that won't show up either. There have been issues with the Wardrobe category as well. It would be nice if the category at least showed in the list even if it were empty.
Things to note about my problem, I don't install with DIM so it's not a DIM issue. I install using the Content Library. I've never had this issue before. I know a lot of people are having issues with downloads and things showing up, but the products already installed in my library should still show up and they aren't when I have the figure selected. And yes, I made sure I had the figure and not some random body part or accessory.

There have been a couple of products that have mistakenly rset the base compatibility of Genesis 8 Female (and one for Male). Try reinstalling Genesis 8 Starter Essentials.

Okay, I tried this. I reinstalled the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials and tried again. No dice. I've included a screenshot showing the problem. It doesn't happen with all Genesis 8 figures. So far, I've only come across a couple that I've used recently. I'm pretty sure Edie 8 worked correctly before because I've rendered her a few times. Never had this issue before.
The screenshot shows what shows up with the figure selected and the check box selected to Filter by Context. Only one item shows up under wardrobe and no hair category is even listed. I had to uncheck the filter to find an outfit so Edie didn't appear naked in the screenshot. Anyone else know what might be happening and a possible fix?
If it's affecting only a couple of characters then I think it's a different issue.
I'll work with a few more characters to see if any others are affected and put in a ticket with the figures I find who seem to be affected. Maybe technical can track down a cause to the issue.
it happened with me with some recent stuff, dim installer btw. upteded meta several times and installed, uninstalled reinstalled again few times in smarty eventually worked again
Yeah, updating metadata was one thing I tried and it didn't work. I might try updating a couple more times and see what happens. Hopefully, I can get it working again for those random characters that seems to be affected. At least if you installed via DIM, I know it's not an issue with how it was installed. That's takes one more thing off the list.
are DAZ store and products, including DS, getting more and more problems?
I'm not sure I'd say that. I've never noticed much of an issue on the whole. Occassionally, I have problems with products and with Daz Studio, but not as many as others seem to have. Perhaps I've just gotten better at rolling with the punches and finding workarounds though. I don't know. I rarely bring up issues if it's something I fix on my own with a workaround. I will put in tickets for things I find that obviously need a fix, but I don't generally find those as often as others do.
I hope everything will settle down once the store upgrade issues have all been resolved.
