No more West Park Morgue?

One of the older Environments I've had in my library is the West Park Morgue. It's now giving me errors when I try to load anything from it, and the icons are all missing. I went back and found an older scene that I'd made using the environment, and that loaded without anything but placeholder blocks instead of objects, walls, etc. It's as if the files have been removed from my computer. It looks like it's no longer available on the Daz Store, either.

Is this a normal thing that happens? Is content often discontinued and subsequently just . . . removed from your library? Anyone have any info on what might be going on here? Thanks in advance.

First, even if a product is removed from the store, you should still have access to it from your account. That's the way it works with older holiday freebies, and other items since removed from shop on my end. Aside from that, I'm staring at the West Park Morgue sale page as we speak, so it's not been removed as far as I can see. From the sounds of it, the files that were on your PC have become corrupt (this has nothing to do with Daz). I'd recommend reinstalling, and if the problem shows up again, it may be time for you to do some PC maintenance, and possibly replace your storage device.

    Will try this. Much appreciated!

The new store automatically "hides" things you already purchased. It's annoying and hopefully something they will revert back to the previous way. But if you know the exact name of a product you own you can find it in your product library: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files

The only problem with that is, of course, sometimes you can't remember the exact name and doing a store search won't pull up anything you already own. I've had to result to using GOOGLE to find items that I own if I'm unsure of the exact name of them. I really hope they put the functionality of the previous store back so that one doesn't have to resort to using Google just to find stuff that they already own in the store.

  • The hide setting can always be toggled on and off, so it's not too bad I think.

There seems to be another level of "hide", or at least a way of searching that will not allow purchased products to appear, despite the Hide/Unhide toggel.

  • Make sure when toggling off the hide option that your "Items Per Page" isn't set to "All". That seems to disable the toggle.

Thank you. That does make a difference. Hopefully, its a glitch that they can fix.

Yes, thank you. That's annoying but I can live with it.

I find the installed product I own in DIM using key words, right click it, select "Show Order", then click on product page.

You can get there directly from Daz Studio too, but those pages don't always work.

How did you install? That sounds like a problem with isntalling through DS itself, when the files are not decrypted for soem reason. If so, and if uninstall/reinstall doesn't help, then please open a support ticket.

This is my problem. I've lost track of what I have and what it is called but I remember what it looked like and what it did

Open Daz Store and also open google incognito or a different browser. Store shows all items you have not bought and incognito shows all items alvailable, have these as two horizontal views side by side. Pathetic, I know, but it works better and is less time consuming than cherry picking a google search.

  • You... really should be able to just unhide purchased items without dealing with incognito browsers and all of that. (With an exception I posted about in the store issues thread). Unfortunately that still won't help if you don't remember part of the name or get lucky with remembering a keyword so that the item will come up in search results in the first place.

I know, and a the better option is not to use incognito but to sign out and delete browser history. And search Daz store that way.  I simply search signed out on a different device with no history and get 534 shoes under a shoe search (more than via Google incognito). I also find better results by searching my own manually downloaded folders. I organize my folder much differently than most and cross reference so I have a really good handle on what I own. I have bought at Daz near 13K products ($34,160.49 spent in US dollars). My spreadsheet of purchases, a pro bundle being one item, is 7897 rows long, so I own near double that in products, and when I manually download products I create folders that make sense to me. I have a footwear folder that not only has footwear stand alone products but a !Allother folders where I put the product image of an outfit that includes footwear as a cross reference. Daz search should be reliable enough for me not to have to utilize any of the above mentioned methods.

    Edit: Added search results.

And if you use Google incognito it still holds sessions and remembers your searches so it's not really that incognito.

That's not a "files removed from your computer" error, it sounds more like a "content location settings" error. The files are most likely still where they've always been, but DAZ|Studio is being pointed to the wrong place. Have you ever used DAZ Central to install content? Recent versions are better behaved, but Central used to have a habit of messing with content settings.

It's also important to distinguish between "loading fails in Smart Content" and "loading fails from Content Library" — Smart Content is not a link to your content files, it's a link to a database of pointers to your content files. If this is where you're trying to load from, then the issue is with your content database, not the content files.

Absolutely cannot reproduce this. And this was my point, doing the same search on a logged in account and toggling off the hide items I own gives me the same results as doing the same search in a different browser that I have never signed in to DAZ3D before.

And each search of "Shoe" gives me 115 items. The store category "Shoes" or "Shoes and Footwear" gives me 534 results, and that's the same whether signed in or on another browser without signing in.

*As a note, I still don't like the way search is behaving now. But knowing the steps to take to show all results, I don't need to mess with other browsers and clearing caches and all of that. If there are exceptions, then something else is going on, and hopefully is also being reported to DAZ3D.

+1 I own every Parkside East West, you name it. They do show up in Smart Content and if not are always easily found under Content Tab, or should for you.

    Edit: Maybe unistall and reinstall.
