how much banner discount do you get? I get 20% and the price is $64, which is pretty high. It seems that I don't get discount for owning Genesis 8 Cross-Figure Resource Kit .
I'm in exactly your boat, gerster, which is why this bundle is a hard pass for me.
It is expensive. I was kind of expecting a additional discount for both bundles. I guess people were complaining too much about complicated sales.
This has been an amazing week for new releases between the cyberpunk and nonbinary events
It's great seeing more representation and I even wishlisted some stuff
While I don't disagree with your sentiment, I don't think you understand what I said.
Historically, the Daz/Poser markets have leaned heavily towards the demographics that are comprised of straight, white, and/or male people. This has been apparent up until Genesis 3, when they started to put more emphasis on ethnic diversity, which up to that point had sorely been lacking outside of a few PAs (and even then, any BIPOC PA characters typically looked like caucasian women with varying levels of a spray tan). It's only gotten better in that regard, and for that, I give Daz major props.
But when it came to LGBTQIA+ content, they were forced to describe themselves with coded names like "Sisterhood" or "Brotherhood", even though the poses themselves would come off as... questionable for actual familial relationships. Transgender content was typically regarded as either a joke or a fetish for certain other sites.
With Daz having openly released a Pride Parade package earlier this year and now this Transgender-focused bundle, they are acknowledging that the times -and demographics- since 'Victoria in a bikini with a sword and high heels' have changed, and that they are welcoming of those who are marginalized.
So yes, it's good to have variety. But the fact Daz is now recognizing certain communities is important and shows they are willing to evolve with the times, and that's to be commended, IMHO.
I put both bundles in my cart, along with one character from Darwins Mischief I was missing. The Binary bundle is $51.73 at 69% off, the Akari bundle by Lyoness is $16.56 at 55% off. The older character stayed at 50%. I also owned the Cross-Figure product.
Update: I just found I had 2 credits for 20% off each, so that is how I got the price down to $51.73.
The price was a bit of a shock, but, consider that we have been asked to pay that for 5 - 7 items for months with 2 or 3 older products, and in the Binary bundle there are 12 new items, along with 1 older item offered for those who may not have purchased it yet. (Yes, a discount for owning that might have been nice.) Off-hand as I looked through the 12 items I didn't own, there were easily 8 I would buy if offered separately.
This package also complements the work of some authors I edit for, so it would help me to give them a visual image for character reference.
The Akari bundle, well, it is by Lyoness.
Well, I am a straight white male. This, of course, does influence my personal choice of products, as is expectable.
Nevertheless, it does in no way make me a bigot who would go dust off the good old pitchforks and torches anytime anyone mentions anything not aligning with my personal preferences. Not everyone in the same "demographics" is said bigot. That was my point. I may not spend money on todays products, as I have no use for them, but I am happy they are available for people who do have use for them. I am happy the artists who do need those products got the products, and, hopefully, in good quality. So, yay on all sides, I guess?
Oh, and I get to pretend to myself that I managed to cut my expenses on Daz by not spending money today too, because I am totally not going to spend said money on the next product I shall absolutely need as soon as it it pops up in the store.
Well done DAZ, happy to see the Pride Bundle wasn't a one off nod to diversity. Instabuy.
Did you see the docs page with the tutorial?

I'm somewhat interested in the mastectomy scars, since they could be useful for something like breast cancer awareness related material. It's only dual sided though, not single sided, so I'll have to think it over some more. Maybe Daz will finally do a proper Pink Ribbon (or even cancer in general!) event next october with single breasted figures, or maybe even custom bras and tops.
I'll pick up the triad poses. They look quite useful. The new bundle is 51 dollars, and I already have cross figure and the original pride bundles, so I can make my own trans figures. I do have pregnacy morphs for those with both male appearing and female appearing figures, so I am set with those.
The bundle is a touch expensive I think. It might have tempted me more, if it did not cost more than an old school pro bundle. Especially since I own one item. I also am not fond of the body hair. It looks weirdly large in hair size.
Thank you for pointing that out. I will leave a link here for laters when it is not on the main store page: https://www.daz3d.com/ffs-triad-romance-poses-for-genesis-8
I like it, the poses do look good. Wishlisted.
Very cool, I love it!
I like the poly pose set in particular but I wish more poses were included. I realise that a pose featuring 3 characters is more work than a pose for 1 or 2 characters, but I still think it's a bit thin.
It works well for G8F to G8M or vice vers shape wise, with or without clothing.
Top surgery scars and mastectomy scars tend to look very different, but I'd love a set with both that included morphs and textures. The C-section scars made me think of how it'd be neat to see more realistic medical wound/scar sets.
This is actually one of the top reasons I was shocked by the Pride bundle and especially this current one. When I first started doing Daz stuff I just kind of noted that the official atmosphere, intentionally or not, seemed to lean toward "we pretend we do not see it" and I was pretty relieved when they picked up some same-gender pose sets around Pride a year or so back.
I was really surprised to see this bundle and am incredibly excited about it!
But, I cannot get it below $64.66 in my cart, which goes up to $68.53 after tax. I guess other people have two discount banners and I only have one? Plus I don't get any additional discount for already owning the Genesis 8 Cross-Figure Resource Kit and that really rubs me the wrong way, I'm sick of DAZ including older content in new bundles and expecting us to buy it twice. This isn't the first bundle where that's happened.
I'd love to be a day-one buyer and would have been if I'd been able to get it to $51, but at nearly $70 and with no credit extended for already owning an item in it, it's going to have to go on the wishlist no matter how much I want to show encouragement and support for more content like this.
I need none of this but it's an insta-buy in the hopes of more in the future. Thank you <3
yeah, I would also buy it and support diversity. but it's too expensive. I'll wait until it's in a few months on sale
I really feel conflicted about it. I think it's an awesome bundle; I never expected to see triad romance poses at DAZ, or makeup for male figures beyond yet another "tribal warrior" variation, or compression garments. I would use at least half of what's in it, if not more, and I know early sales really influence how well something does overall. We need more diverse content and I'd love to be an early supporter.
But it's also more than the old pro bundles ended up being, certainly far more with my single 20% banner than I've ever paid even for a new one. Plus no credit for the owned portion? I can't justify almost $70 after spending so much during PC+ and going into a month when I have a bunch of large annual bills due, no matter how badly I want to. :(
They've had a Breast Cancer Fund Raiser prop for sale in their store already for years now.
I REALLY want a parliament style space suit (i.e. Mothership Connection) with crazy platform boots.
As for the non-binary bundle, I too am on the fence. I really want to buy it, but it is priced such that I have to do some serious thinking. It's been this way for most of the bundles lately. I guess these prices are here to stay.
Sir Nose wouldn't look too bad decked out in this: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-moonage-outfit-for-genesis-8-males. Add a cape and a bop gun and you're all set!
As someone who sits smack bang in the middle of the demographics of this bundle, being transgender, pansexual and polyamorous, my only compaint is that I've pretty much spend my Daz budget for the year.
The USD->AUS exchange rate hurts, too.
I am, howerver, really, really happy to see content like this in the store! Kudos to all the PAs involved, and like others have mentioned, glad to see that the Prode Parade bundle wasn't a once-off thing.
Changed the thread title from "Pride Parade bundle appreciation thread!" to "LGBTQ* content appreciation thread!" in light of more LGBTQ* content being released.
Perhaps this can become a thread with some staying power?
Why not share some renders, everyone?
While I'm not interested in most of the bundle, I do appreciate the fact Daz did the bundle. It's about time. I have, however, been needing pregnancy morphs for male characters for a long time so I was happy to put that immediately in my cart and buy that. The few times I've tried to create those morphs on my own have been very sad. After playing around with the pregnancy morphs on my G8M character, I'm very happy with it. I can now stop using G3M with the crossfigure pregnancy morphs from G3F! Yay! I'm a happy girl. :)
Which, to be honest, is quite meagre compared to a bundle of special characters, outfits and HD morphs.
