October 2020 in 3ds Max Discussion

Hi Folks

Does anyone have a good setup for converting "regular" daz hair to 3ds max/vray?

Thanks a lot...

Mike :o)

ask the idiots that made this 3SD MAX conversion possible

    OOPS

didnt think about it that the characters looks like something that belongs in the 90s graphics era.

    this is a big failure

put 3D MAX in the trashcan until these lazy developers finds a way to get the same quality in 3ds MAX as we get in Daz 3D

Not for VRay specific, but for Physical Material.

The most important thing is to TURN OFF Automatic Gamma for /cutout maps. I usually use OSL Bitmap Lookup for loading the Bitmap.

Hook the transparency/cutout map also into the reflectivity/Anisotropy/Anisotropy Angle map. Worked for me under Arnold.
