Some PC+ Anniversary Mega Pack & Bundle Products not working.

- Problem is persistent on 2 computers - one PC and a Mac.

- Not all of the products from a bundle are affected, just a couple as far as I can tell (haven't really checked every single one of them)

- Uninstalling and reinstalling them doesn't seem to solve anything.

- All files of these products appear as missing (Frame + ! sign).

- Attempting to load them gives a error:

An error occurred while reading the file, see the log see the log file for more details.

- Checking the log file, the only entries related are:

2020-10-31 20:48:36.394     /Users/xxx/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Daz Connect Library/data/cloud/1_18657/props/nomad/nomad.duf (1,1): Syntax error - expected '{' or '['

2020-10-31 20:48:36.395 Error reading file, see log for more details.

Any idea how to fix this?

That error usually means that a product installed with Connect didn't decode properly. Uninstalling and reinstalling usually fixes it.

  • I did, multiple times, doesn't help

I have dozens of products that are behaving this way, most of them are older. I think it has something to do with the bridge updates.

Here are just a few that aren't working for me:

    Factory Robot 14911
    Affinity 5402
    Tiki Island 16734
    Throne of the Wolfking 2067
    Reflections Furniture 12095
    The Desk Collection 16200
    Carnival Midway Interiors 13141
Queen Anne Parlor Furniture Part 1 13447
    Cryo Chambers 13217
    Fantasy Camp II 14208
    Kingdom of Marrakesh Seat 8884
    Umbrella Patio Table 17857
    Horse Accessories 15313
    The Drill Tank 19120
    Reparation 9804

Or use DIM, if that one installs the products where they were supposed to be installed originally - I can see why older products would have problems being installed into ".../data/cloud/1_18657/..."

What I've discovered- These mainly seem to be old poser products, some will still load correctly through the Content Library pane but not Smart Content, and most or all of these have jpgs in their texture folders that wont open in photoshop or preview. Some are missing geometry. All of the products I've had problems with either show an error when loading or nothing happens (no error dialogue). I've tried several different sorting options in Smart Content and it's interesting that the broken products fall under the new install category Not recently updated, even though I've had most of these products for years
