I can't get the Cinema4D Bridge to work because it doesn't even show up in the Menu

It downloaded alright (I think) but I could need help here how to get it going to work

When you installed the bridge, did a script pop up to ask where your C4D install is?

  • in DAZ Central but that was all so I figured pointing to my C4D directory will be good but it wasn't

OK, so if that happened, try Window -> Workspace -> Update and Merge Menus.

  • nothing....

I tried to reinstall but that didn't work either

Does the script show up in C4D? It should be under scripts or extensions, depending on which version you're using.

only in the Plugins Folder in the Cinema 4D directory there is the folder but it doesn't load (I guess you attach a python tag to the object?) and even if it would load, it would be useless because it won't show up in DAZ Studio

That all seems to be correct at the Cinema end. It's not a tag it's a loading script which has some fixes for the FBX import and offers some handy material conversions etc.

It looks like the plugin has not installed properly into DAZ Studio.

  • can you recommend something other than to reinstall from DAZ Central?

Go to users\whateveryournameis\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\RunOnce and see if there's anything in there.

  • empty surprise

    and now?

Try right-clicking on basically anything in your content library or Smart Content, whichever you use, and selecting "create custom action". This will create a Scripts menu in DS, which is the only way the bridge can be accessed as far as I know. If that doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas, because all indicators suggest that it installed correctly.

I dont use DAZ Central, I use still use DIM. Is there somewhere in Central where you can check/specify the Studio location?

  • no, there doesn't seem to be an option

  • I downloaded and reinstalled with legacy Download Manager but still nothing

The DIM will need setting up too.

Do you have both the General and Beta versions of Studio installed?

(By default the bridge is only installed on the general release.)

The screenshot in the OP shows the non-beta version.

  • OK, for now I don't see much hope
