Wishlist comments disappeared after site maintenance

Did anybody else lose all of their wishlist comments during/after the site maintenance? I now have a wishlist that used to have comments, but doesn't any more...

I've attached a screenshot. Last Friday, there was a comment in the box beside "Trixie Hair" reminding me that I also have "ToXic Trixie" on my wishlist...

Is this a known error? If it isn't, could somebody else raise a ticket, please? (I have to logout within five minutes and might not be back online until Wednesday.)

Submit a bug report so they can look into it. https://bugs.daz3d.com

Rob (and Frank) I have the same problem, and as I had the time I did a bug report just now.

Report number: 49562 - public (I think! not 100% confident how to do bug reports) so you should be able to follow this if you want to.

My entire wishlist - except for seven random items - is gone.

Pretty old topic considering, but since I'm new...
I'm surprised the wishlist still isn't saving comments.

I add one, then when I navigate back to the page, it's gone.

I've been trying to figure out what the Comments box was for. I would think a Comments box in the cart when you buy something may be useful, but I don't see what purpose it serves in the wishlist.

Since the wishlist only lists product name and price, I think it was put there to add your own notes on a product for easy reference. I was going to use it to put the vendor's name/s in so I could quickly go through my list and pick out specific ones.

Perhaps, it could have also been used for taking note of which project that item is wished for (game/scene/movie, etc) if you are creating multiple at the same time.

Anyways, it would be very useful...
    ...if it worked :(

i am with you, can't see any possible use for comments in my wishlist. At the VERY least, prioritization. I want to be able to put a word, 'high', 'medium', 'low', or anything like that on my items, and then, especially when there's large-scale sales, I can recall easily what order I wanted to buy stuff in. If I have a particular vision for how to use it, a few words to that effect, to cue my memory when I do buy it.

I use a task tracking program whose motto is one of my favorite concepts: "Forget what you need to do. With confidence."

That's what I want out of the comments section. That's why I wrote my own wishlist manager, with tags, email updates, etc., for the DAZ store. So that I can forget why I wanted something until it's time to actually get it.

It's a shame that comments are still in the wishlist, but are completely unused and unusable.

It's very useful for listing the vendors and DAZ Originals so when certain vendors are on sale, you can just zip to those items. But the comments has never worked for me, at all. They never "stick."

Cypherfox and Novica's reasons for having them in the wishlist make some sense. When I mentioned having them in the cart, as I've seen at some sites, I think they could be useful for letting a vendor know what similar type products they'd like to see. Might work better for props and environments, rather than clothing, but I think it would be a good way to give a vendor direct comments in addition to what the vendor(s) "might" see here on the forums.

    Just my 2¢ FWIW.

Both examples so far are things I would have no use for. The only time I check my wishlist is when some things are on sale in the store and I check it to see if any of the items in my wishlist fall into the sale category, that's it. Having the vendor typed in the comment box would make no difference for my use and just add unnecessary work. I can't imagine why I would need to "prioritize" my wishlist, either it's on sale, or it's not, LOL.I am not against it working, just can't see any real use in it, but obviously some do.

The comments were the only way I had to indicate something is a Daz Original (and thus a valid product for my Platinum Club monthly coupon) rather than merely on a 30%-off sale.

I could do a similar thing to indicate particular PAs, and save money during the "buy this new release and save on the PA's older releases in the same purchase" sales that are so popular nowadays.

Of course, if the wishlist listed vendors as well as product names and prices, this reason to add comments would disappear...

That's exactly what I was going to use it for, to easily see what vendor and then to add what part of my game it was going to be used for as I've been working on my game for a while now and it's time for the graphics. I just recently found Daz and now have a wishlist of about 50+ items.

You do know of course about the difference of licenses needed depending on the method you are using to create your game. For render only Graphix and or Animations, 2D out put, the Eula covers that use. For in game mesh use more is needed, and not all items are sold as in game Mesh items even with the proper license.

Yeah, That's why I wanted to put the vendor name in the wishlist. Fortunately my first game is all rendered sprites, but eventually I did want to get into 3d (and the license is one of the things in my wishlist)

Well that is nice to read. Many never look into things and then get upset. As an old days game designer myself, BBS software games (yes I'm that old), I try to clue people in if they need it before they find out this item or that item is not sold as a game item. Speaking of Game design I just might get back into it myself. I'll need a big refresher before I get far enough along to bother with none Game Mesh items that need conversion.

EDIT: Okay that's enough derailing the topic from me. Sorry folks.

Well, that's my point. Unless I KNOW who the vendor is, I can't check to see if it indeed falls into the sales category. If you had the vendor's name in the comments, zippity-do-dah and DONE. Sales items don't always have a percent off, so they'd just be regular products sitting there without any indication that they are included in a sale.

Why are the comment boxes still there if they are broken and can't be used?
