Hair Shape Issue

I've been having problems creating a natural look for my figure's hair for a while now and I wonder if anyone can help. As you can see by the images the hair has a strange curve (red line) and I want it to be straight (green line). I know the hair is following the shape of the chest, but is there a way to make it so it doesn't? I move the hair off to the sides so I don't need it to do that. I've tried things like changing the parent and adjusting the chest parameter for the hair but it made very little difference. The hair is Caprice Hair for Genesis 8 if that helps.

  • You could try applying a dForce modifier, then use a weight-map to restrict its effect to the ends of the hair. I'd also look to see if there are morphs to move the ends out.

  • Unfortunately, no morphs for the ends. What's a dForce modifier? Is that built into the program or something I can purchase?

  • Edit>Object (or Figure)>Geometry>Add dForce Modifier : Dynamic Surface, then Create>New dForce Modifier Weight Node, then use the Node Weight Map Brush tool, select the Influence Weights map in tool Settings and click Apply, right-click in the Viewport>Geometry Selection>Select All, right-click again, Weight Editing>Fill Selected. select 0%, and you can then paint in the areas you want affected and run a simulation from the Simulation Settings pane.

  • you'll want to go into surfaces and set the self collision to off, and the collision offset to 0.001 as well, otherwise you'll spend a fair amount of time looking at it showing warnings before it actually simulates.

  • I tried it but there was little to no movement.
