Free Bowl testing my DAZ Skills.

This is my first DAZ mesh so let me know what I did right or wrong thanks.

    @RorrKonn I'd say you did it all wrong... it leaves no impression whatsoever. Just kidding, I'm sure we all look forward to seeing the mesh, once you attach it.

    I did,I did "attach a file" but apparently it was a bad idea.

    You'll want to put the folders in the right folder directories - even for freebies, people don't want to have to move different folders around to different parts of their Library. Your included Directions said exactly the right places to put the folders, but people are lazy ((myself included lol)) and we would rather not be arsed with dropping multiple folders into different locations. I know... gift horse, mouth. :P

    Once you get the files into the different directory folders it loads perfectly:

    Oh, don't do that! The bowl turned well - particularly for your first time making a DS freebie! The blue texture looks really nice, imo. The folders just needed to be placed in the right hierarchy, after that it's all good! Nicely done! yes

    Setting up the friggin' folders correctly is a pain in the butt if you don't do it frequently. I've put out some freebies, too, and it always took me longer than the actual freebie itself. Seems I always forget at least one map and see the mistake that makes me redo everything only after the first setup is completely done...

    Don't give up.

    Yeah, just where ever you have your content library installed. Mine is on G drive, but I THINK the default location is: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library (I'm not 100% sure though, because it's been years since I used the default location). 

    Open up the "Content" folder and just drop those files into "My Library" or "My DAZ 3D Library" (whichever one you have) and that should work. :)

    Yeah.. this is pretty neat.  If the OP can make a soap dish and Toothbrush holder to go with it, it would be a bang on first set!

    Wrong again.  Do not include 'vanity' folders "RorrKonn Bowl Freebie".  Do not include "Content" or "My Library" folders.  The "data" folder and other files and folders (that belong to the product/project) at the same level as the "data" should be included.  This makes it a simple extract and play zip.

    lol I think the "wrong" is on you this time. :P All Daz3D store content come in "Content" folders. The "RorrKonn Bowl Freebie" folder isn't what is called a "Vanity" folder, that's just a container folder, which is perfectly fine for freebies. The "vanity" folder is the one in Props called "RorrKonn_Props" - and a lot of PAs also use vanity folders. While I personally don't like vanity folders, a lot of PAs use them, and that's valid too. It's not "wrong".

    I made the RorrKonn_Props and RorrKonn_Textures folders to keep my stuff organized .I would guess that's why a lot of Pa's make them that way .Whats PA stand for ?

    PAs are Published Artists - the term used for Daz3D vendors. 

    And yeah, you can name your Daz Library anything you want, and (as far as I know) put it anywhere you want - as long as you point Daz Studio at it so that it knows where the content is.

    I would recommend using DIM for the installs but that's just a personal preference. Many people like to manually install and I think some use the new Daz Central.

    Don't stress it too much, 3D art is meant to be fun. :D Take it easy and just work on it when you feel up to it, don't let yourself get to stressed.

    I am not wrong.  DAZ3D zips are designed for DIM which strips out the "Content" folder.  Whether you call it a vanity folder or Clyde it doesn't belong.

    Ah, OK, thanks. I thought, wow, what a realistic 3D model, they even put fraying on the edges of the mirror and old dirty caulking lol...

    I read the becoming a vender page .I get that DAZ makes the content smart.

    I have a collection of containers.

    I'm I to make sets ? ready to renders ? I'm not sure what I am to do about this stuff ?
