Daz3d > C4d Bridge Octane Eyes Problem

aprioraprior Posts: 0
July 2020 in Cinema 4D Discussion

Hello, I have a problem. When ever I export a Character with the C4D Bridge (awesome tool btw) and convert the texture to octane, the eyes are bad. Anybody know a fix? Thank you!

Under Octane settings, look for ray epsilon. Bring that down until the eye looks right. Should be fine now.

It's a problem with the geometry. If you select the EyeMoisture and move or scale the geometry as it doesn't intersect with the Sclera the problem will disappear. I guess there is something wrong with the plugin that exports from Daz to C4D as in Octane for Daz there is no such an issue. I didn't try with Blender nor Maya.

I second that. I did several imports od Daz characters as OBJs and always had issues with the eyes because of overlapping polygons. A similar issue can happen with hair caps, as they might overlap with head polygons as well. Some render engines really have an issue with polygons that intersect (e.g. Vray for Cinema 4D)

Here's a fix for the dark circles in the eyes problem with Octane Render :

Open the Octane settings and adjust the Ray Epsilon value. By default it's on 0.0001 so it needs to be 0.00001.

Open material on editor into cinema and delete the node 'invert' on opacity. At last, work for me

I can't get this fixed by adjusting the Ray Epsilon value. Any solution?
