If you've watched an episode of Mythbusters from a few years back, you've seen Grant. He built a lot of robots and those types of things. Only 49 years old from a brain aneurysm :(

This is so sad.
He did a lot of other stuff as well. He was a model and robot builder for ILM and he built Craig Ferguson's robot-skeleton sidekick Geof Petersen. This one came as a real shock given how young he was.
In addition to what is mentioned in this Hollywood Reporter article, Grant did a couple of appearances as C3PO while he was with ILM - as he put it, he was the only one who fit in the outfit. Way too soon, he will be missed.
brain aneurysm? Is this from damge he took as a Mythbuster?
Sorry to hear about that. I never saw that show but I think I've seen him interviewed on other shows about robotics technology.
At this point, who can say? Though if anyone on the show was going to die because of injuries sustained working on that show, one would think it would be Tory.
It very well may have been with him all his life. A ticking time bomb.... :(

Way too young. I loved the Mythbusters series, we watched every episode, and the time Grant was involved was always fun. He truly was a brilliant engineer who could come up with all sorts of creations in a short amount of time. That was why he was part of the Mythbusters cast. He also was a contestant on the show Battlebots, and he did pretty well. He played a role in practical effects, a lost a art, in some of the biggest films of their time with his robotic creations. But more than all the robotics, he just seemed like a good person, and he loved what he did.
And no, being a Mythbuster had no role in this. Grant was not performing many stunts, that was Tory's job. I don't recall Grant taking many bumps and bruises, nothing extreme or beyond what a normal person would take in everyday life. So don't even go there. This had to have been an underlying condition, and one that nobody can see approaching until it is too late.
2020 just keeps getting worse.
Loved Mythbusters, and was impressed by his work with the Star Wars frachise. Obviously a fine engineer. Seemed like a fun person too.
He will be missed. Rest in peace.
This is so sad! I have watched soooooo much Mythbusters, I loved them all. He seemed like a great guy.
Heard about this earlier, He was one of my favorites on the show. Screwed up thing is that he is the second to pass from the show.
We loved Grant!! So sad to hear of his passing, a real loss. RIP.
Loved him on Mythbusters (and of course his other work with ILM was amazing) - he also came to DragonCon a number of times and did panels. He was very pleasant and funny in person as well...
This is very saddening - I hate it when we lose someone who enriches us so much; especially at such a young age.
Grant was also a big Star Trek fan and acted as lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, in the fan created web series called Star Trek Continues. They did 11 episodes and 3 shorter videos called vignettes during 2013-2017. He was a great guy and will be sadly missed.
