Kendall Sears, who worked closely together with Alessandro, passed away.
Alessandro will donate the profits of the sale to his family.
Alessandro_AM himself is still alive.
Thank you for the clarification. I was wondering why the works of Alessandro got on sale while the memory is dedicated to Kendrall.
I still thought this would be a great moment to get and use the wonderful squirrel of Allesandro.
Edited you thread title to save confusion.
Thanks Chohole
It is sad when we lose someone here. So many familiar names, and we know so little about them. I wonder if someone could tell us more about Kendall Sears, the more to appreciate his life, anything that is ok with the people who knew him and cared about him.
Thanks.
Randy
Kendall was a martial arts fan, had his own Dojo I seem to remember. His daughter Alexa is a chip of the old block, also does martila arts, and uses DS. Kendall was a helpful and very generous guy, always willing to help people.
He offered to host my website for free when I needed to change hosts and it still there, and at one stage he hosted a gallery and a site for the freebie challenge (the original freebie challenge) where the judges could view the images and make their minds. I think he has also hosted free sites for some others for various things connected to Daz.
I wonder if that is just Alessandro's half or if DAZ is donating their 50% also? Except for a few really old products that I have no interest in I already own all Alessandro's store. So, I'd only consider buying if I knew 100% of my purchase would be donated.
Thanks for that. I'm an old fashion guy. May he rest in peace, bless his family.
Hi, my 50% goes to Kendall's family. DAZ was very kind to agree putting my store on sale and doing a nice banner. Cheers
Kendall was a loyal and kind soul, a pleasant and generous person, loved and respected by everybody. And my very best friend. I can't begin to describe what a loss this is. He was born and raised in Louisville (Indiana) and today, 10th July, it would have been his 52nd Birthday. As Chohole said, Kendall was very fond of Japanese culture and he knew everything (literally) about computers and electronics. He was by far the best computer programmer I've eve met (and I did met quite a few in my life): when I thought I did some smart code routines, after a few minutes he'd put me at shame showing me an improved version using only a quarter of the code I used; not to mention it worked many times faster and more efficiently :)
He knew dozen and dozen computer programming languages, and when I say "he knew" it means he actually used those proficiently. Be it ObjectPascal, C++, Python, Perl, Ada, C#... you name it... how he could manage to learn and use all that was for me highly surprising. A superior intellect and a brilliant mind, and a kind and generous soul. That he was.
Not to mention that he basically build his own house, because he could do carpentry, electrician, plumber, blacksmith, and even repair his cars by himself.
He was very committed to his family, his wife Deb and his beautiful daughter Alexa. And of course he was the best friend one could ever ask. He always had a kind word for everybody and tried to give his best advice, without being judgmental. A positive person, never holding a grudge on anything or anybody, which loved life and would do only good.
Unfortunately my english doesn't allow me to say things the way I would like, so I hope all the above makes sense and gives you an idea of the great guy he was, taken away too soon from all his loved ones.
He will be so sadly missed my thoughts are with his family and friends at this heartbreaking time may he rest in peace, I would also like to thank Alessandro for being so thoughtful thank you.
Sad news. He was very helpful here in the Forums...
I am sorry I never had the chance to meet him. My deep condolences to you Allessandro and his beloved family.
Mary
This is sad. My deepest sympathy goes to his family and friends.
Kendall has helped me many times before. He was always patient and kind. Alejandro, I am so sorry for your loss.
Rest Well Kendall!
I think you have said it very well, my condolances to you and his family.
My condolences to Kendall's family and to Alessandro as well; my interactions with him were brief, but I remember when we were doing LAMH all together, me in testing crew and Alessandro and him in developing. It was fun and his contributions were so good and crucial. I'm so sorry that he is gone, all too soon from this world.
My deepest condolences to Kendall's family, Alessandro, and all who were friends with him, knew and interacted with him. He sounds like he was a wonderful and generous friend.
Condolences to Kendall's family and friends, and to the Planet Earth for losing a fine human being. I'll be making my contributory purchase tonight when I get home.
My condolences to all those who knew and loved Kendall Sears. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him, but he sounds like a wonderful person.
Mod edit to cure a typo ~Thanks!
I'm quite new to the community here and didn't know Kendall but I don't need to know someone to be sorry that they're gone. Condolences to all those who knew him and to Alessandro, I'm sorry you lost such a good friend.
Alessandro, I'm so sorry for your loss.
My condolences to Kendall's family and Alessandro for your loss.
My condolences to the family and friends.
I am so glad that I have read this and learned about this man
What a special person Kendall clearly was, and how fully he took advantage of the gift of life and of being human -- mastering skills, expanding his mind and sharing his knowledge and curiosity with others, finding love and creating a family, and putting art, compassion and kindness into our world. We should all aspire to make such good use of our time on this earth as Kendall did. Thank you, Alessandro, for sharing his story and allowing Kendall to touch my life today, even though I didn't have the good fortune to know him personally.
May he rest in peace
and I hope that you, his wife and daughter, and everyone else who was lucky enough to know Kendall, will find their way through the inevitable grief of losing him... and that when that storm clears, you will find that he is still there with you every day, in your hearts and your minds, and he always will be
Alessandro, you are so generous to the family of your partner. It is good to know that DAZ feels the same way. I hope the loss of Kendall has not thrown the family into economic distress. It is bad enough to loss a loved one but when other clamities are brought about because of it, it breaks your heart. Good thoughts to you AM.
To Alessandro and Kendall's family: I'm so deeply sorry for your loss! I remember his kindness!
