Haha, good stuff. Yeah I was surprised at the male breast uh essentially female breast on a male or more male looking transgender and that is somehow no problem but if that same breast was attached to a female we'd never see it exposed in the Daz Store. What if it was a more female looking transgender? Might be worth a try to submit my next female waving a transgender flag and add some topless promos. laugh

I think it's great though. I'll take every bit of "normalization" of the human body. But yeah it does expose (no pun intended) a certain double standard for sure. No matter how you look at it, a transgender breast is either one leftover from a female that became male or it grew on a male that took female hormones? Seems to me in both cases it's actually a female breast so I'm not sure why that is ok but not a regular old female breast on a female body. Or it could be surgery but then there are women who have that done too and it's still not ok to expose those kind of breasts either. Certainly an interesting topic that I never thought about in that way.

Just wanted to echo thanks for the bundle as a whole, and for the surgery scar options in particular. I had tried to modify some textures like this before but didn't get great results, so this is very helpful.

I made bear pride textures for both the bus and the dinghy. Problem is that there seems to be a CC BY-SA 3.0 attached to the design with the paw. So I made one without the paw. Enjoy!

And extra thanks for this! I appreciated all the different flags included, and was going to try to do these myself, so having them already done is great! laugh

Thank you to everyone who worked on this bundle. You've made this queer lass very happy indeed. (No, I'm not crying! Well, maybe a little bit... Representation certainly matters!)

while i didn't get the whole bundle - too many dforce items that don't work on my old laptop, sadly - i jumped atthe transgender shapes immediately. i already had 2 buy/free products to cross the gender line, but this is a very appreciated item!

and now, everyone: you wanna hear something reaaaally weird and eerie? and really funny?

i used the transgender shapes and my own 2 products to create a young male based on G8F. not my 1st rodeo, nothing out of the ordinary up to that. i like the finer type of male this gives.
hen i place said male in a HDR of an abandoned warehouse from hdri heaven, still no biggie. and then i get my urban skate board+poses, fumble around in the forum to find out that the figure needs to be parented to the board node to work, ok, still nothing weird.

and then, since I identify my figure as male, i automatically click on the pose i want but version G8M, and it works.

tho just after, i realize my "mistake", and thinking that if i use the adequate corresponding G8F pose, i might have a bit of a neater result.

AND IT DOESN'T WORK. MY FIGURE OBVIOUSLY ALSO IDENTIFIES AS MALE, AND REFUSES FEMALE POSES!

ok, i'm aware there's some logical tech reason - or a bug - behind that, but still.. it's...

    Heh...

it's probably some glitch, since poses can usually be applied across genders. But still... funny!

I'm excited to pick this up too but... as per Gordig, Divamakeup and bluejaunte's comments, I'm a little perturbed by the apparent double standards here with regards to the portrayal of breasts in the Transgender Shapes promos. Breasts are breasts - it's the form, not the function, that are censored to be clothed*, thus it shouldn't matter to whom they are attached. Unless of course topless promos across the board are to be a thing now, in which case, carry on!

Yep, as I told DisperateDreamer in a PM:

It just goes to show how we hypersexualize women's breasts but don't give a hoot if men go around topless. It's a disgusting and archaic way of looking at and treating the genders. We've gotten so insane about sexualizing women's breasts that women have been thrown out of malls and restaurants for having the "audacity" to breastfeed their babies there. You know...use their own breasts for what they were originally designed for... "How dare they! Them's meant to be sexualized playthings... babies smaybes." lol It's completely ridiculous how much women's bodies are over-sexualized. I remember in school the girls would always get in trouble for wearing shorts that were not "long enough", but the boys would and could wear shorts as short as they wanted to. It's a ridiculous double standard and makes me sick how much we shame women and treat their bodies in a hypersexualized way, while men are free to live their lives wearing whatever makes themselves comfortable without people screaming that "that's too much skin showing!". Ugh!

I still don't understand why violence and horror is OK, but nudity isn't...

...the "other store" uses "Content Advisory" thumbnails

Well, we could ask Daz to implement the no-no for showing male breasts, just to be "equal" of course. It would start a whole new line of clothing for male characters. Victoria's Public Carnal Knowledge brings us Chesterton Bras for the brahs! A through FFS cups for the feminine man and A through FFS pectangles for the masculine man!

Indeed, it is absurd how we choose the quixotic over the pragmatic.

Before investing in the morphs set, one question: is there any solution yet to the way dresses break when fitted to a male character? There always seems to be a "V" where the fabric 'cracks', rather than a smooth transition from one 'thigh' to the other. If G8M can be morphed into a feminine version, and needs to be dressed appropriately, we need to make sure the clothing works and renders correctly. This issue is right up there with the 'blade' that gets created in almost all female tops when the character's breasts are reduced or gone, or for that matter, the 'arching' of the fabric over the sternum on items like bras and bikinis when the breasts are reduced, rather than remaining straight across as it was modeled.

I do not have the words to describe how very unexpected the Break the Binary bundle is for me. Not unwelcome, mind, just ... I can't believe they went there!

This is amazing. I love video games and I love character creation, but what I can design has always been limited to "close enough" because male and female characters are usually defined by totally separate aesthetics and clothing (this will probably change very quickly in coming years). Daz for me is like a nearly-unlimited version of that because there are limits, but those limits are flexible, and nobody is standing guard saying "No, you can't do that." It means a lot to me to see the developer offering these items and affirming that this kind of freedom is something to celebrate.

  • while the sentiment is great I often use my male poses and expression on my females and vis versa anyway

Pretty cool to see Daz taking another chance with the Breaking the Binary bundle.  I did notice that not a single item has a PA's name attached to it.  There were a few negative posts about the Pride bundle, so this means that if there's any heat/hate this time, Daz didn't want any PAs to get targeted. Nevermind that part. cheeky

    Big ups to Daz. yes

While it is something different that is for sure.. I am going to keep right out of the conversation myself, as these sorts of topics can get really heated fast..

I was a bit surprised but will buy to give support to this important step. And some cool stuff there to round out current scenes.
  • Not sure why the vendor names were left out, but I'll say that I did one of the characters. I made DD Blake, and they were fun to make. They also have a slight projection morph to help ease clothing fit in the chest area.
As for the transgender shapes- I tried to get them to work as nicely with clothing as possible.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I really applaud DAZ's efforts with this. It's very sad that there were negative posts around the original bundle and no doubt there will be for this one too.

If it's not your cup of tea, then move along to what is - there is no need to promote or spread negativity by posting about it. If it's constructive criticism around the quality of the products or promos then that's different.

Representation is very important and this is one step closer to making everyone feel like they have representation and belong.

In my opinion, having the widest possible choice of quality products is what matters.

I do have a use neither for the latest Cyberpunk stuff, nor for today's offers, but hey, some other artists may have shrugged and moved along when Steampunk themed stuff was on offer, while I was merrily throwing money at the screen. Perhaps today is their day for a spending spree. Maybe all of the aformentioned themes may have made some other artists happy (and their wallets weep). Everybody wins in the end, so fine with me.smiley

Was there? I remember the response being very positive.

I'm interested in buy this, but wouldn't it have been better to make the transwoman character G8F? The female clothes won't autofit on her, right?

The comments got nuked pretty quick.

There's the Cross-figure resource kit included in the bundle for fitting issues, also anatomy.

I would have got this, but $51 with banner not very enticing.
