The main image on the DAZ 3D product webpage displays the Blender logo, which implies this product works with Blender, but the body of the text says "All animations are made for Daz 3D".
Does this product work with Blender? How is that implemented if the product is made for Daz 3D Studio?
Animation Megapack Vol. 4 https://www.daz3d.com/animation-megapack-vol-4
The DAZ 3D ReadMe webpage and BoneTech3D's website do not address these questions.

It's a strange promo page, and not a very attractive one. Why do the characters have all bones selected and why do the animations made to be used with props not show the props? It also says the animations are for M8. And yeah. That Blender weirdness. An impulse buy this will not be.
A list of animations on at thier products would be so useful... the video link goes to the same video used for animation megapack vol 1. Where is volume 3? On bonetech's website it suggest that some of the old animate animation packs work with Gen8, but no mention on the Daz pages. I am tempted as I'm looking to add some aniblocks, but lots of red flags... I don't know what I am really buying.
I own a lot of BoneTecs Animations paks. They are very well made aniblocks and animated presets. I don't use blender so I can't tell you if they work or not with it. . But you can actually write the creator and owner of Bonetec and ask your question directly by going to their website and scroll to the contact form at the bottom of the page https://www.bonetech3d.com/
As for Blender, it is now quite easy to transfer your pre animated Daz figures over to Blender since the advent of blender 2.8x
Theres is a long thread discusssing the Free Diffeomorphic plugin to transfer Daz figures to Blender (with decent material conversion )and even a BVH retargeter to apply new animation to Daz figures in Blender after import.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to reply. As per Ivy's advice, I have sent an email to [email protected] and I will update you an the reply. I also asked what happened to volume 3.
Volume 3 is now out, but the promos and linked Vimeo video as well as the product description "See these animations for M8", while showing a female character, are identical to the ones for Volume 4.
It's even worse, thats the video for volume 1. The names of the various animations are all AM4 01, AM4 02, ect. No clue is to what are the animations. Looks like the first 2 "Mega" packs where a hodgepodge of mage behavior, military behavior, a couple idles, very basic walks, a couple dances of very different styles. They look like good animations but only a few are relevent to any one particular genre. With the promo today I could get all 4 packs for under $50... which I would do if I knew was usable animations for my projects. I was really looking to buy some good G8 aniblocks... but at least give a description of the included animations if not a video.
I own pack 1 and 2 for genesis 8 and right now I'm not even entirely sure what's the difference between those 2. Watching the promos and the video for pack 3 and 4, they also look like the ones I already have. Until I can get some time to remember what's in pack 1 and 2, and better promos about pack 3 and 4, I'm not buying them.
If they come as BVH files, you can easily transfer them to blender using the diffeomorphic BVH retargeter. I use Mixamo files with that very easily.
Strange way of advertising and packaging for sure... I used one of the coupons to get Pack 1 and 2 for five dollars each to see what the deal was. It seems like they have mostly different animations...
Pack 1 has 15 animations in a folder called "Main" and the same 15 in a second folder called "Bonus+HandAnims" with the figure's hands zeroed throughout the animations.
Pack 2 has 6 Folders...
01 SELECTS - 11 New Animations
02 BONUS - 21 Animations (Same 11 from SELECTS and some amount of the other 10 animations are different, but at least a few of those are shorter versions of the rest, I think?)
03 ADDITIVE - 5 Static Hand Poses: Fist, add Pointer, add Pinky, add Ring, Peace Sign.
04 BASE HANDS - 22 Animations (Semingly all of the above mentioned, only with Zeroed Static Hands).
05 EXTRAS - 2 Animations (One repeat and maybe one unique? Not sure, looking at a lot of similar-ish and/or repeated animations)
06 ANIMATION MP VOL. 1 SAMPLER - 2 Animations from Pack 1
So there's 30-some unique Animations between the two at least and a bit of options for hands...
The actual Animations in each Pack are completely random as mentioned before... a few idle, dance, gun tote, punches, walk cycles, sorcery, celebration, etc... Going to guess that Pack 3 and 4 would be the same?
Just thought I'd report what I'd found for anyone else who was wondering. :)
Thanks for taking the bullet. It seems to me that thematic bundles with dance OR combat OR gun stuff would make more sense. These sound like samplers.
I ended up getting all 4 Megapacks... poor impulse control combined with a stackable flash sale (got all 4 for about $38). The animations themselves are solid, I'll actually get some use out of them. But the product bundles are a random assortment of genres. Maybe 2 or 3 per pack that would be usable for any single genre.
The thumbnails are useless. The naming and folder structure is a mess, made worse in that several "bonuses" are just doubles with different names if you own all 4 packs. The naming convention for Pack #1 is "Animation Megapack 01". For Pack #2 "Animation Megapack 2 Selects 01" or "Animation Megapack 2 Bonus 01". For Packs 3 & 4, "AM3 01" or "AM4 01".
Packs 3 & 4 are installed in the Megapack directory (for Megapack 1, but a diffent folder heirarchy that mashes 3 & 4 together, but leaves 1 on its own). Megapack 2 is in its own folder. Just have some consitency...
TLDR: Some good animations, but one of the worst designed products I've bought in terms of user friendliness.
Agree with your TLDR 100%, thanks for the info about 3 & 4, @toph !
_ and do you have to use aniMate2 for these And ones made by others ?? thanx _
I think they work with AniMate Lite but Can't be sure as I have AniMate 2. The baking AniBlocks to timeline and reversing are well worth it if you are getting into animation. I would reccomend buying AniMate2 before you consider puchasing these.
the [email protected] message failed to be delivered due to recipient server time out.
two days ago I sent the same message to [email protected] and I have not yet received a reply.
_ alright then, Thanx _
Animate2 is included with Daz Studio now.
Not exactly. From the notes on animate2's product page.
i don't have animate2, just animate lite. It looks like they keep it locked until purchase.
_ alright then , did see about AniMate 2 , Thanx _
I never received a reply from [email protected] so keep that in mind if you buy one of the bonetech products.
There's no way to put in a serial number...
and Animate2 is available anyway.
I'm interested in the possibility that we are supposed to have the Animate2 Plugin for FREE (without additional purchase), and automatically available to us in our Daz Studio Pro.
Like Emo Sludge, I only have AnimateLite, and the Animate2 DLL that came with my download was for a 30 day trial only -- The trial time has been expired for many years.
And, I do have a spot where I am supposed to enter the Serial Number when I purchase it :
So, without having to bog down Daz3D customer service reps with another inquiry -- Does anyone else who has not additionally purchased the Animate2 plugin have it available and permanently active with their download of DS?
I do not have it, nor a Serial Number available in my Daz S.N.'s (as with others such as Morph Loader Pro, FBX Exporter, Texture Atlas, etc.) that come as default with the DS purchase/download.
Also, I am running DS Pro 4.12.0.86_x64 which is only one public release version back from current download.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
